In for Katana Zero. Will look into Hob and Cup Head.

Love Steamworld, but not sure about the card game.
Usually dislike any card based combat

As someone who wasn't impressed by the first Blaster Master Zero, is 2 an improvement? The trailer looked like one, but I don't want to fall into a trap

There's some cool stuff coming to Switch this month! I'm excited about:

- Ace Attorney Trilogy
- Dragon's Dogma
- FF 12
- Boxboy

Definitely won't have the time to play all of those this month, but I look forward to picking them all up eventually.

As someone who wasn't impressed by the first Blaster Master Zero, is 2 an improvement? The trailer looked like one, but I don't want to fall into a trap

from March:

- Blaster Master Zero -2: Played the first a lot, even most of the game with done DLC characters. Feels like it improves the imbalance(first was way too easy). Human gunplay is a bit more interesting but the use of counter kind of isn't explained well.
Oh thank god, Blaster Master 0 2 allows you to warp back outside from a cave or even better, DIRECTLY BACK TO SOPHIA. This alone is going to help so much, it got rather tedious having to travel back through a cave to exit considering how many there were. Also hearing this one is much tougher, but I'm still in the first area of the game.

I wonder if it'll get a bunch of DLC again like with the last game. Would've been cool if the DLC you got from the first game worked on this one.

Could've been better explained, but I quickly figured it out. Basically, as a bullet is about to hit you, press X & Jason will do a spin, then you'll see a special cut-in showing that you were successful. Best place to test it out is in the 2nd cave where there's some barrier robot things since their bullets are slow enough to know when to press X. Something else to note is that you can move while doing the dodge, which can help with avoiding enemies.

Seems they also balanced out your weapon/leveling up while playing as Jason in caves, no more just getting a few power-up items for the highest weapon & just obliterating everything.
Blaster Master Zero 2 completed, took 7 hours. While I wasn't a fan of some random backtracking to get the true ending and the final level has a rather infuriating & slow part, I think I prefer this to the original. This one was able to branch out & try some more things since it didn't have to be a retelling/reimagining of the original NES game (which I should play to completion one of these days now that it's on the NES Online) and I much preferred the structure of smaller stages that you can choose from over the first game's giant overworld which was a pain backtraveling through. Plus this one put up much more of a fight, especially in the cave sections since you're not just blasting through everything with the best weapon.

I do wonder if they'll add DLC again, considering how many characters were added to the previous game.

Welp, time for an SD upgrade...
I'm currently using a 128gb card, are either of the 256 cards currently on sale at Amazon (a SanDisk and a Kingston) safe for the Switch? Are fake cards really a common issue, or is it possible to get a card that'll cause poor performance?

Man, the PR may as well be on Mondays now since that's like... the one day that releases seem to be allergic to. We even have Wednesday releases now.

I didn't like the first either, it felt like just walking between blue dots on a map. Like, the enemies were a non-entity so the game was just "Walk here. Great, now walk here."

The second isn't like that at all, and is a big improvement. It's a challenging, good game. Good price too!

Sleep Deprivation Zone
Did you know "April" spelled backwards is "Lirpa", which is a Vulcan weapon from Star Trek that means "death to wallet"? Did you also know that 98.8% of things you read on Internet message boards are fabricated out of thin air?

On the docket for this month:

► BOXBOY! + BOXGIRL!
► Cuphead
► Cytus Alpha
► Konami Anniversary Collection: Arcade Classics
► Mechstermination Force
► SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech
► Super Crate Box

And any SEGA AGES games that randomly drop. *wink wink* Puyo Puyo *nudge nudge*

I gave Metagal a shot and it's actually quite good for $4. The story is dumb, but I don't play Megaman for the story. I was expecting bs Rosenkreuzstilette levels of difficulty based on the Steam reviews, but Metagal is actually fairly forgiving.

One thing I like, infinite lives! No getting to the boss, dying, and having to play through the whole level again. Instead you collect gears, which are pretty frequently dropped, which when you die lets you restart at the beginning of the room you died in. Otherwise you go back to the checkpoint (usual midpoint and pre-boss checkpoints).

It's a bit shorter than the usual Megaman game. You fight the 4 robot gals in any order, and then you're already at the fortress for the remaining 4 levels. I played the first 4 stages so far.

Multiple playable characters that you have to unlock. Not sure if just cosmetic or if they offer gameplay differences.

Power-ups are fairly interesting. Landmines that you can jump high off of, gravity ball that swaps your place with whatever enemy you hit, etc.

Music is good!

No remapping controls and dash is on the X button.. Or you can double tap a direction to dash, which is what I do because X is an awkward dash button.

I'm interested in Boxboy, but since I got 2 MyNintedo discounts that were going to dissappear tomorrow (Metroid Trilogy for WiiU and EarthBound), I'll just grab those 2 games and call it a day.

BoxBoy and Cuphead day one. I already imported a physical copy of Ace Attorney Trilogy; I love those games! SteamWorld Quest, Our World is Ended and Cytus Alpha all have my interest but I can wait on those for now.

In addition to Ace Attorney and Dragon's Dogma, I've got my eye on Lost King's Lullaby. It's a roguelite RPG priced at only $10, and look at this art direction:

Definitely keeping an eye out for reviews. Seems to be console exclusive on Switch, with a Steam release coming, too.
