Thanks for the thread as always.

I'm probably getting Turok 2 as I've enjoyed the first one. But, then again, I still have DQ Builders 2, and Doom 1 and 2. Gotta finish Builders 2 before Link's Awakening and DQ XI S comes out next month.

By the way, how is Turok 2 compared to 1?
Turok 2 is a better game in every way.
Better level design, combat is far superior, better weapons, improved enemy AI and designs, more gore, etc.

Thanks for the new thread, tolkir.

I'm excited to have just purchased Dragon Ball FighterZ, having been interested in the game since it originally launched but patiently been waiting to get the Switch version on sale. Pleasantly surprised Bandai Namco priced it pretty much at parity with the other versions heading into Evo weekend, I was prepared to be disappointed again. The DLC characters are great, but I'm fine with the 24 characters in the base game for $18. That icon isn't going to win many awards in the icon thread, however.

Astral Chain is my most anticipated game of the year, but along with close second Fire Emblem: Three Houses that just released, I might hold off until the fall/holiday season for both thanks to the games I've already bought that I'm excited to play. Plus finally replaying Zelda BOTW on Master Mode!

Thanks Tolkir for another great thread.

As to me, things are getting out of hand.

From last month, still considering Mutant Year Zero, and will probably buy Bear With Me.

Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition
is a must for me.

Will probably buy Oninaki.

Interested in Root Letter: Last Answer

Will get Astral Chain with one of my vouchers, unless it somehow gets really bad reviews (which I seriously doubt).

And then there is my backlog.

So just another month as a Switch owner?

I preloaded Oninaki and Astral Chain already, and I still have five to seven games installed that I haven't even touched yet.

Thanks for the thread, as always.

Going to focus on Fire Emblem this month with an eye towards Zelda in September. Interested to see how Astral Chain reviews.

I knew that the second half of the year was going to be busy but I'm already falling behind. By the time Astral Chain comes around, I will most likely still be playing Fire Emblem. I wanted to get Mutant Year Zero on Switch but I need to see more patched handheld footage first. Oninaki I still need to try the demo first. Right now, I think I'm only getting Astral Chain and Ninja Saviors for sure.

Turok 2 and Chroma Squad I already own on PC so I will probably wait for sales. RAD is enticing but I think I've got my fill of procedurally generated games on Switch for a while.

Nintendo x Tencent press conference is tomorrow right? On a scale from 1 to 9000, how likely is it that PUBG mobile gets announced for Switch? Or even better, Game for peace.

I give it 1000.
Looking the Rabbids leak and Nintendo titles confirmed, it seems they're trying to be a family console there on the launch. It could come later.
Maybe we'll get some surprises with some Chinese indies.

I checked out Rise: Race the Future for my site and gave a review. Here's the conclusion, in which I give the game a B- and a recommendation.

VD-Dev's Rise: Race the Future brings a satisfying and rewarding arcade racer to the Nintendo Switch at an affordable price point (just over $16 USD). The absences of online leaderboards and especially multiplayer hurt the overall package, and the steering and handling takes some practice to get one's head around. However, with a copious amount of solo content and a gratifying racing experience for those who get over the initial hump of learning the ins and outs of its controls, Rise: Race the Future should not be missed by those yearning for a circuit-style arcade racing experience on the Switch.

I dont know if this is new for today, but I was looking for any new sales, and noticed every single NIS America game in on sale on EU eShop. Everything around 50% off.

Well, every game except one - SNK Heroines Tag Team Frenzy

By the way, how is Turok 2 compared to 1?

I wasn't quite as big on the sequel as the first game at the time. Though it mostly had to do with the abysmal performance on the N64 that held it back for me. I expect this port to perform quite well and control very nicely, so my view on the game could change. But despite it having bigger levels, more variety, more weapons, something about it didn't quite gel for me. I adored exploring, collecting, and conquering Turok 1, but less so in 2. Looking forward to revisiting to see how I feel now though.

Oh and its been awhile, but I also recall liking Turok 3 quite a bit on N64. Its campaign was quite solid. I felt it was a big improvement over Turok 2 at the time. It was going for a HL feel, which was newly popular at the time.

I don't know if this has been posted yet but Captain Toad is "FREE" for a week on the JPN eShop with a Nintendo Switch Online account.

Go to my.nintendo.com and change your region to Japan. Log in to the eShop, go to the Nintendo Switch Online section. You'll see Captain Toad icon and then there's a button on the left side of the screen (not the right side where you can purchase or download the demo) to download the game. You can then go back to My.Nintendo and switch back to NA region, the game will play fine as long as you have a Switch Online account.

The same thing is going to be true for Mario Tennis as well, change your region to get this one later:

Enemy respawn is still a thing in Turok 2 but it's not as bad. The respawn rate is a lot lower and it doesn't punish you for taking your time like the original does.
There is basically no enemy respawn in Turok 2 unless you get out and come back to a level or use a teleporter. The other exceptions are Hive of the mantis or lair of the blind ones where some minor enemies (spiders, insects) constantly come out of some holes but you can just ignore them. In turok 1 enemies would respawn based on certain distance.

I'm torn on buying some last minute vouchers; I like saving money but Astral Chain is the only must-play game for me on the upcoming release schedule...

Edit: Never mind! I decided to buy them, but it looks like they have pulled the vouchers.
