I had never heard of that Whipseey game, but it looks a lot like Kirby with a permanent whip so for six bucks I'm in.

Astral Chain and Oninaki for me this month (already preloaded!) and probably Ninja Saviors as well.

Already have Astral Chain pre-loaded this month. I don't know if I'm going to get anything else, though I definitely have my eye on Legacy of the Duelist, which I'll probably just get when it inevitably goes on sale.

Cool nothing for me probably.

Maybe Astral Chain after I read a lot of reviews and impression. I think I still need to go back and buy Marvel from July.

How is the title of the thread not "a bathesda.net account is not required to post in this thread" or something of the sort?

You have failed this city tolkir

Looking forward to Astral Chain. That's really it considering Sept. is the packed month for me, especially with both Link's Awakening AND the Genesis Mini coming a day or two before my b-day.

I do wonder if considering I was able to download the Famicom app via the Japanese eShop, if during that free period, I could nab Captain Toad the same way.

Very curious about how Ninja Saviors is... and had to comment on that zinger of a thread title. LOL

Umm I rented it and thought performance was fine, but the killer was the loading screens. They were too long for me, I felt like it was waiting for so long to get into a match.

Okay if you get a digital version and want to do 1v1 with 2 Switches, it'll work, kinda sort've.

You can't do local multiplayer with a digital copy and two Switches. My expierments trying this with other games doesn't work. You can do 1v1 ONLINE though if both accounts have Nintendo Online, and one digital copy.

Oh, so I thought if you use the secondary switch to play a digital game, and then you logon to your primary switch to play the same game, it automatically stops the secondary switch? Is that not true? You can play online at the same time with two switches sharing one copy of a game?

As a OG. im very pleased by the retro inspired games from the 8 bit to 64 bit era, that's been showing up on the Switch. It makes me feel like im enjoying that great period of gaming all over again. Already see a couple of 2d stuff i want this month.

Despite this being a quiet month there's still a lot coming out. I've already got Astral Chain pre-loaded; Oninaki's demo didn't really sell me on the game; Rad looks... totally rad!

Only Astral Chain for me if reviews are good. Going to be very busy with all the Doom games just released though so if it doesn't end up being that good I'll skip it no problem.

Obligatory new thread reminder that the Nintendo vouchers end today in the US (at least as far as we know). It lasts a year after purchase.

Slightly interested in Astral Chain and Pillars, but I'm a cheap gamer and will only buy old stuff on sale as usual. Oh, and Doom II as soon as I beat the first one, since the price is right.

It's complicated. I'll try to explain.

Cliffnotes: In order for this to work you need TWO accounts, and they BOTH need to have Nintendo Online.

  1. Mario and Luigi have separate accounts on Switch A. Both users have Switch A registered as their Primary console.
  2. Mario purchased Dragon Ball Z, and buys a second Switch to play his brother online
  3. Switch B is purchased and Mario and Luigi sign into this second Switch. Both register Switch B as their Secondary console.
Okay, so how do they play online? (they both need Switch Online accounts, duh)

1. Luigi is allowed to play Dragonball on Switch A, even though Mario purchased it, since it's his Primary console. He can play any game Mario purchases on Switch A and vice versa, because they're both primary. So he gets online with Switch A.

2. Mario (and Luigi) is only allowed to play games he purchased on Switch B while he is online, since that's his secondary account. So Mario gets online with Switch B; and now he can play online with Luigi.

See, how both users are online on different accounts? This is the way you can have one digital copy and play "the same copy" online two systems.

... Did all that make sense? It's complicated without visuals.

Got it thanks for the help! Helps a ton in planning whether to get a second switch for my daughter.

So you can play the same game at the same time as long as you use two different accounts (obviously the account that owns the game needs to be playing on the secondary). That makes it seem even more odd that local multiplayer doesn't work.

I have a family account so that seems like it would work.

Yes exactly! The problem with local multiplayer is that when the game "handshakes" it will notice that it's the same game being played and say NOPE. But when you both get online, it will say okay.

I tested this out with Stardew Valley. Couldn't do local, the game recognized it was the same game being played across two accounts, but I did the online mode and it allowed it.

I have the Secondary Switch for my daughter's too. I bought vouchers for Luigi and Pokemon so we can do the same game on both systems and be able to play online multiplayer together.

Thanks for the thread as always.

I'm probably getting Turok 2 as I've enjoyed the first one. But, then again, I still have DQ Builders 2, and Doom 1 and 2. Gotta finish Builders 2 before Link's Awakening and DQ XI S comes out next month.

By the way, how is Turok 2 compared to 1?

The FOMO will be strong with Astral Chain but I think I'm gonna wait on a sale. Really going back and forth on if i should get one more pair of vouchers.

What is Omega Labyrinth like? Aside from being for perverts, I mean. 😉
It's a pretty standard roguelike with cast of cute girls, the fanservice stuff is just window dressing and you can even skip all the rubbing minigames completely if it's anything like the first one (didn't play the second).

Sweet! New thread and a light month in terms of release! Definitely need it too with Fire Emblem taking over my life.

Edit:
Dammit, I just watched the Pillars video posted above and I was going to hold out on that, at least until I saw impressions about its performance but that video sold me.

I'm really enjoying Mulaka, runs great portable aswell. Very cool third person action-y / adventure game, the flat shaded low-poly look is great on the switch screen, and the asthetic is really unique.
