I would be all over Friday the 13th if it weren't guaranteed to be a terrible port. It barely ran on PS4 Pro for months into the release

It is an Unreal engine game running on the Switch, so it is jaggy and has the occasional hiccup but I've been playing it via review code for about a week and it's a solid port. It has some strange oddities like "A" is sometimes cancel (they switched the function on menus but left PS4 button layout in-game), and at least pre-release it isn't saving my Jason or counselor preferences or customizations from session to session... but it plays well and the load time is the same as on other consoles. I'm hoping that when it launches they start a Double XP event.

Here's a video of Switch gameplay -

Oh that's real surprising. Thanks for the input. I'll definitely pick it up during the first major sale. Already own it everywhere else.

Oh that's real surprising. Thanks for the input. I'll definitely pick it up during the first major sale. Already own it everywhere else.

I'm impressed with it. DEFINITELY looks better on the Switch than the footage released of Dead By Daylight. Shame the game isn't cross-play as that'd really increase the pool of players but I imagine it'll do pretty well on Switch. I also own it everywhere else but it's very nice to have it on Switch.

Welp, Safety First! is on sale for a buck.

Time to go pee on stuff as a stick man, I guess. 🥴

EDIT: Trampled on by a moose.

I used to have your optimism but once I ignored a user for the first time it opened the floodgates. Or perhaps closing them is a better analogy.

I'm sure eventually I'll snap and just go on a mass ignoring spree and block half the people here.

Everyone should buy this if they haven't yet. It looks absolutely stunning in portable mode. And, you know, it just happens to be a damn good game.

Somewhere. I think.
Just realised that there's no Wii U or 3DS sale listed this week, NoE just stopped bothering with those I guess (I refuse to believe nuGAME isn't putting Brick Breaker 128: The Sequel Part 2 on sale for the 125 127 450 469 133th time since launch).

I was going to buy X Multiply but then I realised I also wanted to get Image Fight, but for some reason it's listed but not available to buy. Does anyone know why?

Edit: I'm in EU.

It looks like a decent, but basic ARPG, but the combat is very slow paced. It also looks to be a port of a mobile game offers in-app purchases (but none of these are on Switch), so if they have not rebalanced the game it could be very grindy as a result.

So I finished Night in the Woods last night. That did not turn out how I expected it to.

Yeah, I was following it for some time but the reviews kind of turned me off of it. I'm not a fan of slow grinds.

I bought Picto Quest and played 25% of the main story. So far, it's up to 10x10 puzzles and the RPG elements are pretty light. The use a top-down map to go from level to level with an occasional quest along the way and shops to buy power-ups and health. The quests, so far, are the only thing novel about the gameplay and they're basically npcs who ask you to replay past levels but with new conditions. Some put a time limit in order to beat them, some involve increased difficulty or making no mistakes. The enemies attack you and take your health but it seems to be pretty random and has nothing to do with me making mistakes. It might have to do with the amount of time you're taking to beat the level but I'm not sure yet. It's pretty charming with tight gameplay, and besides Pic-A-Pix, it's probably the best and tightest Picross clone on the Switch.

I now see that there is an attack meter that fills up to do damage to you but you can't fill a row and get it wiped out. BTW, some of the levels are against enemies who will attack you but some are just for treasure chests where you just lose coins for making mistakes

Dude it's TOUGH. Much more difficult than the cute art would imply. I think that's a good thing, you'll see the game over screen quite often!

Personally, it's worth <$8 to check it out. It's interesting, but I got bored of the game play loop, but only because Action RPGs aren't really my thing. I think if you do like Diablo-likes, then this is a really good one for the price and its visual style. I know they're working on a sequel due out this year.

I've only played it 30minutes in handheld mode but so far PIX THE CAT seems a great port! I'm glad because it's still early but at least it's clear it's no PACMAN CE2+ Switch port (with the bad framerate).

Game is amazing as ever, best highscore-chasing game since the first PAC-MAN CE, ton of content, great price, online leaderboards... LOVE IT!

I'd only ever really seen Pix the Cat's arcade mode, which sold me on the game, so I was very surprised when the Labaratory opened up and how different that game mode was. Not to mention how different it looks, too! Awesome stuff.

I bought it based on your praise. Pac-Man CE is one of the best modern non shmup arcade style experiences for sure.

Edit: OK, yeah. This is really good already.

If I didn't just finish the Overlord picross & have a backlog I wanted to focus on, I would've probably gotten this. I tend to be wary of non-Jupiter developed picross titles, but I might give this one a try later on.

Picto Quest is getting pretty addicting and I would recommend it to Picross fans. The levels that involve fighting enemies who attack you add a different element to the formula. The gameplay ends up being faster since you're racing against the attack meter as it fills up. I'm over 50% done and I just started hitting 20x15s, and I'm hoping they get bigger.

Oh gosh the responsibility is killing me lol
But I'mma stick behind my words, it's a legit gem, the whole package is just soooo good.
It's also one of those games where secondary modes are not there just to quickly build a bigger package and often stretching a simple idea way too thin. I think they're all worthwhile and addicting, although as usual ARCADE mode is my jam.

Hopefully you'll keep enjoying it :)

Played a bit of OTT:TD and I'm enjoying it. The hero units, the rpg elememts (skill points, special abilities) and above all the humor which is present in the wacky art, sound and story all make it feel sufficiently fresh for its genre. It's an enhanced tower defense game for the unfamiliar. I usually avoid these but am glad I made an exception for this one.
Recommended without question at the current sale price of $2!

The next game I'm thinking of getting is the just released space combat flight game Subdivision Infinity.

Grabbed Pix the Cat based on the recommendations in here along with Dandy Dungeon, which I'm very excited to finally try. I think i'm all set on 'moving a character around a grid' games for awhile........
Also sort of considering Danmaku Unlimited 3 while it's on sale; I don't have a whole lot of experience with 'bullet hell' games but I've been getting more and more into shmups so I've been pretty open to trying whatever

edit: Okay yeah Pix is bonkers. I really didn't expect it be so.....psychedelic? The zoom effect is so wild. It's also extremely polished, really impressive.

I'm impressed with the game so far. The main mode definitely appeals to me as a Pac-Man CE fan. And the side modes are good as you said too, especially the puzzley lab mode.

Folded and purchased Ys: VIII. I haven't played a JRPG since Skies of Arcadia on the Dreamcast. Something about the hack and slash nature of this one has really peeked my interest.

Can anyone give a firm recommendation for Everspace? I keep looking at this game. I like the spaceship theme. I like Sky Rogue. I should like this, right? It's just so expensive.

I have the fire rod, bombs, my pick makes things on fire, nothing works, what am I missing fam?

edit: nvm got it, it was more puzzle-y than I expected given the rest of the game.

Has anyone played this Picross game?

Link
I just finished it. Basically, instead of one giant list of puzzles, they're paired in groups. One character, with 9 total, has 9 normal/mega puzzles, 3 color puzzles, and then a giant picture ranging from 30 to 50 puzzles that need to be solved to form the picture. It's by Jupiter who did all the Picross e & s titles along with that Kemono Friends one, so it's still worth getting if you like Picross. It's just now, you get summaries of events from the anime series Overlord.

Dandy Dungeon is so good......I expected as much from Onion Games but it's like, really, really charming and funny, and it seems like it gets pretty in-depth on the gameplay end. It also made me really happy to see the 2nd-highest ranked player on the leaderboards has the username 'cubivore' lol. It seems like there's a whole lot here and it's clear they put a lot of work in to adapt it from the mobile version; even at the full 25 dollars I think it's pretty reasonably priced, for anyone who was interested but was hesitant due to the price. This makes me wanna get back in to Black Bird too.

Any idea what time Turok 2 will go live on NA Eshop? I've got a flight in the morning. Would love to play it during that.
