Thanks for the thread as always, Tolkir! Pretty slow this month, but I'm sure to find something on sale soon. Eyeing up Crush Your Enemies as well as Blasphemous! Also, this reminds me I have a backer PSN code for Knights and Bikes I haven't redeemed, sure wish I could trade it in for a switch code!

Thanks for the new thread!

I literally didn't buy a single video game in January (pretty proud of myself) but I still love reading what is the best thread on this forum.

As for this month, looks like another month where I don't pick anything up.

I've already preloaded Mega Man Zero and Samurai Shodown, but this month is looking pretty slim for me otherwise. Looks like most of the month will be me trying to finish Tokyo Mirage Sessions and Dragon Quest XI S.

Don't worry, you'll get Eastward next week with the Direct. :P

Aw yeah, best thread and Kunai made the banner picture.

Looking forward to Kunai and Underhero, gonna wait on SnackWorld a bit, but it's looking like a decent month for me.

Subbing as always.

Been playing TMS since launch and want to focus on that until completion, so probably won't get much in February. Snack world and Darksiders genesis are likely candidates for buying.

Already got Overlord Picross from the sale. This month is off to a good start ;)

Thanks for the thread as always.

The outlook for February: I'll almost certainly be giving the free update to Wargroove a look, although I haven't been back to the game since clearing everything at launch, and I know this update's content is co-op oriented (playable solo, but not concertedly designed for it). So we'll see how that goes. Not sure I've gotten enough mileage out of Dead Cells as it is for the paid expansion to be worthwhile; I'm still a few updates behind when it comes to experiencing the base content and free patches. Two Point Hospital has been in the corner of my eye on PC for ages, but if the Switch interface is nice I might pick it up here instead, if further down the road and not at launch.

At the moment I'm looking at grabbing the Toki Tori games on sale, and otherwise having a quiet catch-up month in the run up to Animal Crossing. Still tons of unfinished business in FE3H before Cindered Shadows even hits.

As far as eShop spending goes, I'm definitely starting to hit the saturation point that I reached with Steam a few years into its life, where backlog issues are starting to freeze new purchases. You have to wonder how long the current software climate will remain sustainable.

Concerning January, I filled out all my S-ranks in Super Crush KO a few days ago (and captured footage of all of it), and will have a few things to say about the game in a subsequent post when I get a chance to collect my thoughts and write them down. I enjoyed it considerably—especially because I played without ever using checkpoints/continues and found that the whole experience was very well paced this way—but it's highly oriented towards an arcade mentality, and definitely not for people who couldn't care less about scores and medals.

Played a bit of Hypercharged last night. I wish you didn't have to hold the sprint button down.

Megaman Zero Collection and UNICLR are my interests for this month, hopefully, the latter feels nice on switch.

Person of European Heritage #112: Welcome to Relocation Block B, your new home.Your designated role is 'Bouncer'. Work hard, stay out of trouble, and we might let you stay in the UK.
If you liked Papers, Please, take a look at Not Tonight: Take Back Control Edition. It's basically the same game (spot the differences), but with light RPG elements, a bit easier (at least for now) and here you play as an EU immigrant working as a bouncer at pubs and festivals in a post-Brexit UK (that premise got me XD).

In the words of the developers: A DARK POLITICAL COMEDY RPG SET IN DYSTOPIAN POST-BREXIT BRITAIN

In an alternative Britain where Brexit talks have collapsed, an extreme far-right government has taken power. Citizens of European heritage have been rounded up and exiled. Forced out of your previous life, you find yourself in the midst of a booming gig economy, fighting to scrape by and return to the city you call home.

Not Tonight is a post-Brexit management game, fusing a time-pressure RPG with a politically charged story where every decision matters. Will you join the resistance and fight the regime -- or keep your head down and hope that one day this will all be a distant memory?
Graphics are great (wonderful pixel art), the humor is nice and the gameplay loop y right up my alley: You choose a job through and app called BOUNCR on your phone, go there, talk to the boss, do your work, win money to pay the rent (or new clothes, item for you house, a skin for the phone…), increase your level, repeat. At first controls are a bit wonky (the game was designed for mouse and keyboard controls), but I think they are really well implemented and I got used to them pretty quickly. Now they work perfectly for me.

As I said, the basics are the same as Papers, Please. In Not Tonight there's a queue of people trying to enter a pub (or festival, or party…). You have to check the IDs for the correct photo, flag, birth date, expiry date and so… Everything's correct? You can enter. There's something wrong? Not tonight… As you progress the game adds some new elements as a second queue, which can be a guest list where you have to check if their names are there, or other ones where you have to check that some VIPs say the correct password.

When you finish your work you go back to your apartment, where people comes to visit, you check your notes and calendar, buy things or chat to people using your phone. The story is narrated through those people you interact with in those moments and with the bosses at each job.

Really nice so far…

Just the Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection for me this month (across all systems lol). Extremely slow start to the year, but that's ok. Gives me time to focus on games I got for Christmas

Bought the dlc for 3 Houses for the various goodies but I'm only like a quarter of the way through my second house, so I'm not going to be getting to that story for a while.

Other than that, probably just waiting on sales for stuff on my wish list.

To add to the OP: Tangledeep's Legend of Shara and Dawn of Dragons expansions should be releasing together on the Switch before the end of the month, if all goes well. Developer's been working on their Switch version for quite some time. Should be cheap, too.

I'm super excited for them, personally. They add a ton to an already meaty game — new story from the antagonist's perspective complete with unique mechanics for her, a 13th job class, a level cap increase, new weapons and weapon types, vast new dungeons, new superbosses, new rare items, etc.

Just Two Point Hospital for me this month, but I'll more than likely be playing that on Gamepass.

I'm waiting for a Nintendo Direct to drop (ideally before PAX East) before jumping on anything this month. I bought Super Daryl Deluxe last month but haven't started it and Toki Tori 2+ SE still interests me so I might check it out before the sale ends. I'll look for impressions on Aviary Attorney and Snack World.

Not Tonight looks cool but if was meant to be played on keyboard and mouse like Kentucky Route Zero, then I'll wishlist it. I worked with No More Robots at PAX West last year. There were really cool and hilarious people so I'm not surprised they made a game set in their backyard.

Don't think there's anything this month for me. Zero/ZX Collection, I'll keep an eye on to hit $20. Guess my month is gonna be on finishing Tokyo Mirage Sessions in time for the Yakuza HD Collection.

I've said it was gonna be a "quiet month" for me before but the way games get announced and released essentially out of nowhere usually changes that.

Interested in a couple things already announced, though!

Great OT as usual and my favorite on ERA :)
The only 100% day 1 purchase for me is Rune Factory 4 Special.
If you have never played it on 3DS, and like any Harvest Moon type games, then check this out!! It has a combat/loot system that is very fun and adds more to the whole package. Farming of course is in, and the music is great and I love the graphics. Can't wait for 2/25..

There's a lot of interesting looking stuff this month (like every dang month on the eShop), but unless something really breaks out word-of-mouth wise or there's a killer shadow drop, I'm hoping that February and March are backlog months till Animal Crossing and Doom. Enjoying the relative "quiet," honestly.

Is this the month I'll have the time to play the games I'll buy ?

Probably not

Yes, this is me.

Any thoughts on Sky Rogue while it's on sale (US)? Looks like the closest thing to Ace Combat here right now. Come to think of it, I'd love some HD ports of Ace Combat 2-6 if Namco'd get around to it. Even Assault Horizon 3DS HD would be welcome.

Doesn't look like there is anything this month that I'm interested in. That's okay though since I'm working through my backlog right now.

Great thread OP!

This is great news, can't wait to dive back into Tangledeep!!

I started playing Katana Zero and hot damn this game is amazing! I love the premise so much, and I'm not even done yet and the story is already all the right kinds of insane. It's so visually slick, too.

Finally arrived at the heart fight in Slay the Spire with the Silent in poison build. Common enemies can't even touch me and elite enemies can be killed in a few turns. But this heart... that's fucking bullshit lmao. How am I suppose to fight this thing? Actually, please do not answer as I want to figure it out myself.

Anyone outside of NA using a Canadian eshop account have problems buying recently? I've never had an issue using a foreign credit card but suddenly I can't buy anything for that reason. Has to be a recent change but I don't see anyone talking about it.

I got pretty addicted to Tokyo Mirage Sessions, pitting in something like 10 hours in a short period of time which is unheard of for me.

Then I came to the Gangrel boss and hit a massive wall. Now I can't bring myself to play it as it'll mean grinding constantly.
