not sure I cba with much more of Mana Spark tbh, especially now that I got ETG (and I'm eyeing Blazing Beaks), but I do feel like I got my 1.99€'s worth at least.

It feels very much like a "my first rogue-like shooter", there arent many items and most are useless, the action feels sloppy especially on portable (not being able to rebind keys sucks), just overall feels like a lesser game than the others in the genre. I beat the second boss just now and didnt even unlock the third character (the melee guy which I was hoping would change things up a bit), I assumed I would since you unlock the second character after the frist boss. But yeah, not sure how much more Ill stick with it, it feels like a chore to restart unlike ETG which always felt fresh imo.

Thanks!

Allright Fam, I need your help...Wasteland 2 or Dragons Dogma?
Have both, haven't played either yet (backlog... ) :-(
But if I had neither I'd go for Wasteland 2. When I'm interested in 2 different games and need to choose one, assuming both are considered good (they are - and actually Wasteland 2 as a game is higher rated) I'll go where I think my support might help things more. I am quite certain Capcom have already decided, for better or for worse, what they will port or develop (lol) for Switch and what they won't, InXile on the other hand is not a given so support there might help more. But that's just me (and I wouldn't do it if I am not really interested in a game anyway).

I played it 6 hours straight the other day. At its heart and underneath the quirkiness, this game is essentially a puzzle platformer.

It's set in a bizarre world with a....thing...that looks and moves around hilariously. You explore environments and solve puzzles to move on to the next thing. They also throw completely random insane mini games at you a lot as well. There is done equipment (hats) and such that you use to gain different abilities to use in earlier locations , so it's a little bit Metroidvania too. It's cute, a little challenging, and weeeeeird. Really good music, and performance is ok. I do get stutters here and there while playing that resolve in a couple minutes.

I don't play many games like Pikuniku, so I have enjoyed it. It's no GOTY or anything but it's fun and if on sale, I'd say it's a safe purchase if you like puzzle platformers :)

Cool, thanks for the impressions. So probably worth checking out at half off then.

I just tried the Hob demo and I liked what I played. Has anyone here played the entire game that can say it is worth the price or wait for a price drop? So many games I want to play right now it is hard to keep up.

Even though you posted to inform another user, just wanted to say thank you for posting this! I've been waiting to grab this game for a while now and will pick it up this weekend! I was just thinking the other day it would be nice if this goes on sale since the new DLC just hit.
Oh glad to be of help, haha. Game is wonderful, I hope a lot of people take advantage of the sale.

Lol. I just meant that it's aimed squarely at fans of those old style CRPGs, and most people that fall into that category are passionate enough about them that they would have bought it day one.
I getcha. I just think that attitude ends up sounding like no one should buy good games just because they came out a while ago. Undoubtedly the game's intended audience is bigger than its install base.

Crystal Crisis looks digital-only in Europe is that right? Anything else notable recently only came out physically in the US? Seems a waste to place an order for one thing only - Dragon's Dogma would've been the ideal companion but I've already bought it.

I'm one to talk lately, but dont forget there is probably a E3 sale very soon which might have some "bigger" games so you might not want to splurge all your money right now.

Gato Roboto's boss difficulty is a bit of a turn off. I wouldn't mind if the rest of the game was as hard as they are, but right now it feels like far too much of a drastic difference. Still, I shall press on.. for now.

I agree. Maybe I just stink at the game but they're tough compared to the "regular" part off the game.

I kinda felt the same about the bosses but save rooms are always nearby plus after playing them a couple of times I always found patterns that made them a lot easier. It's kinda like Cuphead in the sense that you really need to memorize movements.

Among the Sleep is insanely overpriced. Not a bad game by all means. The concept is/was novel and interesting. Sadly the game is short and the first part is the high point of the game. At that price point it is a clear No.

I tried Downwell on Steam back in the day and didn't really like it, despite that I wanna get it on Switch because I always prefer console, and cheap game is cheap.

Also I feel like it should have liked it lol. Seems like a game I would.

yes the game is super easy and then the bosses are a huge difficulty spike. Then again all of them are all about seeing the pattern and when you have the pattern down they arent too hard.

Gato Roboto:

I just hit the point of no return with 93.8% on my save. I assume there's nothing to collect beyond there and I could have 100% by this point?

more than me, I had 82%. Its a good example of where price DOES matter (even tho people like to say price dosnt equate quality), because if that was a 20 game like most indies for example, or 15, I would never recomend it. for 8 or whatever it costs, its neat for what it is.

related, but I just got done with Mana Spark, cant be arsed with it anymore as I've seen all the game has to offer (which isnt a lot) and I have much better rogue likes to play to continue with this one. But again, for $2 when it was on sale, I feel I got my money's worth.

Putting your Switch into vertical mode and playing the game as it was meant to be played will make such a difference.

Finished Gato Roboto at 60% in 2h30 it seems. Definitely too short and without much surprises. Just a nice little game, a bit too classical. Felt the same about Minit. A bit of a wasted potential but given the price, it's not a major bummer.

Minit let me down big time. It starts off seeming so clever, and you wonder, "Wow, what other creative and funny ways will they find to waste your one minute of life??" The answer was none. No other creative ways.

Gato Roboto done. 100% at about 2h40m. Nothing is terribly hard to find.

Loading up your final save file is odd, though. You get to
explore the escape pod, which is just five rooms, and go see the dog and the mouse. And that's it, doesn't seem to be anything to do there.

New June My Nintendo rewards are now available for North America:

Nintendo must have the most intensely stubborn resolve to never discount the Switch version of Sushi Striker while the 3DS version is fair game. It's as if the former doesn't exist to them. It's really bizarre. (And frustrating for those who refuse to cough up 50 bones for a puzzle game on Switch when there are countless others on offer that are far cheaper.)

I kinda agree. The best thing about the game is that it's short. But yeah, it's no Half Minute Hero, a game which really used it's 60 seconds idea very smartly and in unique ways.

Heck yeah. Half Minute Hero on PSP is one of my absolute favourite games! Great puzzle/RPG hybrid, with very charming writing. I got the sequel on Steam, but couldn't get into it. Its story wasn't quite as silly, and it suffered not being on a handheld.

Same here, it's a GOAT for the PSP and portable gaming.

Is the Steam version
Half Minute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax Ultimate Boy

is that the sequel or the original? I see there's a Second Coming thats also $10, is that the sequel?
