I don't count a port. I'm talking about new games and yes, since Directs started Retro had one game revealed at E3, which was DKCTF in 2013. It doesn't help they haven't put any brand new games out since then...

Nintendo still has to date their Spring titles, so a Direct will definitely be coming relatively soon.

The first part isn't really true. He said a trilogy of some kind, and we don't know what the 2D game is.

Game Freak has been outsourcing for years now. They probably had that many studios/teams on XY.
Let's Go was mostly a C-team effort with some outsourcing assistance.
then i guess it's possible. still, the idea of a pokemon game that's botw-tier sounds way too good to be true, i had kinda made myself believe new gen was going to look let's go-ish, now i'm super excited to see how they look.
I'm not trying to be pedantic or anything, it's just that we often see people going hog wild repeating slightly different versions of leaks/teases as truth, and then having a shit fit at leakers when it's not what they expected.
Ultimately pointless now as Zell appears to have more explicitly teased a 2D Zelda in the last few posts.
That's kinda my point. If LG had some much external help (mainly to get the game out so quickly), Gen 8 will need a significantly larger group of people on the game to match the scope we seem to be expecting

Well they did say to expect 1 Zelda game per year. I just expected this year to get some ports/remasters instead. I guess that might be saved for 2021.
I like that he's got 1st party sources. makes me jealous. With what Zell is saying and what I know on the other side... like I've said a few times, 2019 is gonna be great. No one is gonna be able to complain there aren't games to play this year.

The series consistently sells well. I believe they're releasing a Zelda mobile game this year too.
It's pretty much an annualized series these days. It would be surprising if Nintendo didn't release a Zelda game this year.

I mean, just look at gtav and rdr2 (or botw!). A new Zelda release has to be an event, so people will be all on board. 1 game every 3-4 years is more than enough
