As if Nintendo did this out of some moral stance. They made the changes so the game would be Rated T, and thus potentially boost sales. If they cared so much about sexualizing minors they wouldn't have plastered Joker over Smash Ultimate or even allowed the underage characters to be sexualized in the game's original release in the first place.
I mean, if people come into this thread complaining that an underage character has less cleavage and later say that you watch horrible stuff to "test your empathy", sure. We're just calling people pedophiles over an anime game now huh.
So questionable content that already meams something else in another market can't be changed.I mean I'd prefer if plot specific content wasn't changed if the name had real plot significance I wouldn't want that changed either its not exactly specific to that other situation.
I can't even be mad at this as a fan of the game. I don't know why it is such a lightning rod for this fuckery.Fans of the game believing the game is not worth buying without vagina bones is all I need to know about this game. It failing again will maybe prevent creepy garbage like this from being made.
Xenoblade 2 just has scantily clad women.I'm very confused.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 could get away with a lot of Anime titties and skin being shown off, even from some fairly young looking blades. So why does TMS have to be "altered", is it just Atlus being too cautious? Is it because the characters in TMS are human beings with actual ages (17 in japan) so they had to alter them? Why not just alter the ages and keep the character design?
This stuff doesn't effect me that much but I get disappointed every time I hear about these alterations. Like I doubt the amount of skin is gonna have any bearings on sales. At least they're doing refunds tho, but I'm not sure if the game is good and I dont already own a version of it that some censored designs are really going to effect my pre-purchase that much.
instead of offering full refunds have an uncensored version =p (this stuff can't be offered as a toggle option in the game?)
I'm sorry guys, I realized I made a big mistake. I never wanted you guys to think I considered child porn OK, it's NOT OK. I am disgusted by it. I have never watched it before. I guess I should take a break. I'm sorry.

Not like the creepy faction really did much to save the game the first tine around. Why can't they offer an uncensored download on the eshop? So both factions would be happy, no?
Played it to the final boss, tryed it like 5 times always got stomped to the ground. Then i realized that i had to grind countles levels and droped the game and watched the ending on youtube.I couldn't care one way or the other. I picked it up on Wii U and never got to it, and now getting the Wii U out is a pain. I'll grab this and then not play it all over again on Switch.
I don't think there can be a restoration patch if there isn't an unsullied version to pull assets from.I'm sure fans will make a restoration patch like they did for the western Wii U version. Switch hacking and emulation are already pretty advanced.
An officially supported option for playing the unaltered version without needing to get the original Wii U version would've obviously been preferable though.
I'm not part of this "anti-censorship" brigade but I'm always wary about having the western version of a game being altered.
Aside from that dumb wedding dress change that looks like they just gave her white body paint, these changes just seem like they're for the better. So what's the problem?
At least its not the mess that FE Fates was where they just completely cut out support conversations and replaced them with ellipses.
It's crazy, this is the second time a bunch of people come out of the woodwork to get mad at the "censorship" of not seeing underage girls with less clothing.I can't even be mad at this as a fan of the game. I don't know why it is such a lightning rod for this fuckery.
It uses the same assets as the Wii U version, no?I don't think there can be a restoration patch if there isn't an unsullied version to pull assets from.
Yeah it will definitely be possible to revert the changes, with the possible exception of the Hot Springs DLC if there are no references to it in the game code at all anymore. It uses the same assets as the Wii U version, no?
I'm not saying it's as simple as copy/pasting them, but seeing the stuff that has been done by the modding scene for BotW, I don't see why it should be impossible.
Do you not understand bait and switch?Anyway, it's really dumb that they'd offer refunds for this. Isn't the basically an "international version" like the kind that used to release in Japan before DLC was a thing? Like, sorry you can't get your high school tiddies Japan, now you know what kind of S&Ps exist outside of your country?
If it was "censored" before why in the world would it not be the next time?
Unless they advertised "includes underaged cleavage" on the box, I don't see how that applies since it's not supposed to be one of the selling points of the game.

I was under the impression there were updated textures and models at play? At the very least there's outfits made new for this version. It uses the same assets as the Wii U version, no?

...so you saw different box art and thought that meant there would be less "censorship"... I keep putting "censorship" in quotations because I don't find making the game less creepy really censorship and more-so just making the game less creepy.time line:
- screenshot from JP wii U version was used to advertise on the main website
- preorder opened
- only few days ago the site updated to use the current one with the description saying the game will be based on US version
it's not that hard to understand
???...so you saw different box art and thought that meant there would be younger girls in the game?
Okay
I was thinking about this like...if this thread was about anything other than a video game a bunch of people would be getting some knocks on their doors.
cool story thank you for sharingThere are already enough under age people wearing nothing in real life.
Once I went to the beach. I was shocked and never went outside again.
If only I could be a creep.

I'm desperately trying to fight the urge to avatar quote you.
So are you agreeing people should not be allowed to cancel their preorder?
I dont know why TMS threads turn out like this. What a clown show.
It's a colorful, lighthearted and great game
I'll see you in the OT fellow TMS fans
Lol.Yup. If only you could actually hit on those underage girls instead of just sharing how you saw them in bikinis.
Don't worry, you already are a creep for sharing this story.
"i live in a bubble"I saw hundreds of games with far worse stuff and no one complaining
