Man, retouched snes games with online ability is a dream. Shame nintendo cant implement a lobby system on this service. Dont even have to talk to randoms.
Same.
Gimme!I hope you are ready for another chance to play through Super Mario World.
Wario's Woods is out! That's what you want right nerds?????
Nintendo is so.....awkward
But they're not even doing all of them it seems like, so it's a bummer.Man, retouched snes games with online ability is a dream. Shame nintendo cant implement a lobby system on this service. Dont even have to talk to randoms.
I mean, it's not like they can just release any game they want. Sure, it'd be nice if they could, but so many games are tied up in licensing knots - to speak nothing of those games which were actually based on licenses...Lol, so many high hopes in here for the online lineups. Like we havent been shafted two generations in a row for virtual console, but SURE, Nintendo wont be shitty and SUPER slow about releasing games for this service. I TOTALLY BELIEVE THEM THIS TIME.
If the past is anything to go by, we have a year, maybe two, of real effort and then it will dry up, leaving hundreds, maybe thousands of gems unreleased.
I honestly hope I eat these words but I fucking doubt it. Nintendo has the same problem as sega, rereleasing the same handful of games over and over, leaving some real great games in the cold for almost 30 years now. It's sad and I hate it and i blame no one for looking to emulation themselves when these companies could care less.
This such a hilariously bad take, I don't even know how to respond. Nintendo can't mandate what publishers do with their old games. The idea that it's Nintendo's responsibility is beyond absurdToo late for that. They've allowed publishers to do what they want with their releases on Switch both online and retail. No common feature rich emulator for releases, no uniform branding and prices and some publishers actually released some of their games on retail collection instead (SNK, Square Enix).
It's chaotic and poorly thought out like usual with Nintendo legacy and online content.
Nintendo Online drip feed is awful. They should add like 3 games a week for each system.
Then you have a huge catalog and an actual selling point.

Microsoft and Sony seems to be doing a good job at it. PSX Classics all use the same emulator and a common price fork on PSN, same for Xbox and Xbox 360 games on Xbox live. Some titles got updated releases on PSP/Vita but are still sold like FF tactics as PSX classics. What's so hilarious about that?
On Nintendo online service some are gated on their online service, some are sold as emulated versions directly sold by publishers and thus have a different feature set and price fork. It's a free for all. Maybe it should have been the hilarious first part of your response.

You can buy any 3rd party controller or the Switch Pro if you want a D-Pad.Shame, the joycons are a poor substitute for an authentic-feeling controller with a proper dpad.
Same here. I'll be honest that I haven't a clue what it will be like going forward but I was under the assumption the online service was going to gestate while these other two pieces of hardware were out. Now that they're ending perhaps the Big N will end the drip feed and focus on these classic titles coming more regularly.
I'm content to side-load roms into my snes mini without having to pay a subscription fee to play my library. You can buy any 3rd party controller or the Switch Pro if you want a D-Pad.
Or you couls get one of those D-Pad Joycon shells
Those aren't the same as 3rd parties releasing retro collections, which are also on those systems and also don't follow any consistency
