This isn't the reason people were dumping on the Vita, my guy. Whatever group you're referring to was definitely a vocal minority, even within their own bubble.

It was well know the Vita was crapped on for years because of some of the questionable content it launched. Are you upset that it has come to the precious and pure Switch now?
Like chill, I have both and play games on both, it's okay to enjoy both and poibt out flaws in both.


Try doing a search by "dragon" or "Dogma" on the site.... oof, it doesn't pop up there......... I found it later under a couple sub menu's. so what does that say? Seriously....

But it's also a lot of truth.

I've been wondering WTF was going on, lately, since it seems like the Switch storefront is practically anything goes ala mobile games. I've seen so much garbage showing up with poor translations and obvious ports from mobile games it's been annoying to wade through some of it.

Well it kind of would. You take a franchise and you let new players experience it. You see the outcome nd if there is a market for those players going forward.

Seems to me like you're the one who's bothered to see that these games are now on Switch because of some sort of persecution complex caused by people making fun of the Vita. Trust me when I say this: I really don't care about the "purity" or "preciousness" of a console.

Yeah, I never said otherwise. I said that the reason most people made fun of the Vita was not because of these types of games. I never argued - or implied - that the Vita was bad or that the Switch was flawless.

Why does fan service mean skanky female stuff?

I consider fan service to be, for example, when a newer resident evil game throws some references in to older games for fans.

Nintendo always allowed it because they leave up to CERO, ESRB and whatever to deal with it. The only thing they care is for Adult only titles not being on their platform, like the others.

It's just backwards compatibility. There were no GTA games made for Vita. It's like saying 3DS got GTA since it can also play Chinatown Wars.

TO be fair, I believe there was a GTA collection planned for the Vita was was buried. I believe it was the GTA3/SA/VC version that are on mobile that were also going to be dropped on Vita with tropies, etc, but it never happened.

The hell? Fanservice is used with different mediums. It's not used to define just skanky female stuff. What you used as an example is fanservice. With anime games fanservice is associated with girls given what Japan dishes out to their audience. Godzilla fighting Zilla in 2004 was fanservice. Gundam Build Fighters is fanservice galore with past Gundams/characters. Etc.

Then there's "unwanted" fanservice when the guy is exploited/sexualized and makes other men uncomfortable. Shit is ridiculously ironic.

I understand and sympathize and I can only speak for myself when I say I haven't participated in what the OP accused (some) Switch fans of doing
They also made a broad generalization which is console wars territory rhetoric and elicited the mods stepping in.

Further the Switch isnt a niche device defined by these.games in the same way Vita may have been later in its life so the comparison isn't even fair and just felt spiteful.

Not for Nintendo. The damage that the "kiddy" stigma did to them literally destroyed them as market leader (and it still lingers on to this day - the amount of people who still believe that Nintendo censor third party games is absurd).

They are in an unfortunate position where they absolutely, positively cannot risk giving the public any reason to reattach that label onto them. They simply calculated that allowing porn games on their systems would do much less damage than the "kiddy" label would do to them. That label is a literal kiss of death in this industry.

This post screams 'console warrior' from the rooftops. You're talking about all these trash games like this and then name off...one?

Besides, the Vita is dead and people are going to take their handheld games to the only option on the market. I don't particularly care for this kind of trash, but I'm not going to shit on Nintendo over some made-up battle between Switch and Vita fans that probably took place on gamefaqs and the bottom of the YouTube comment section.

Anyway, I definitely see the pattern and it's definitely partly due to Sony's censorship policies. Compile Heart (who made the game in question) has also announced other games for Switch that have a similar... reputation.

It seems to be a changing of the tide. I have my doubts that these games would've started popping up on Switch if Sony hadn't started this recent policy of theirs. I'm also thinking this will start attracting the otaku audience towards Switch in Japan (and maybe worldwide) faster and faster. Which in turn, would mean more notable Japanese support could be in the Switch's future.

Vita clearly was the darling of publishers in Japan despite 3DS selling eons better than it. I've always felt it was this very reason, that the otaku audience was very much catered to in Japan while 3DS in Japan was much less so. That's just my opinion, but Japanese games did very well on Vita in Japan. Not just these kinds of games, but Japanese games in general.

I don't think anyone dumped on the Vita for having those games, I think it was more like they were used to say things like "Vita has tons of exclusives", meanwhile a huge percentage of them would only appeal to players that like this kind of stuff.

Yeah, this have been the case since the founding of the ESRB board. People are forgetting that it was Nintendo who was okay with showing nipples in BMX XX , while the PS2 version was censored because of Sony's regulations.

At first, but it switch to the Vita being an unnecessary system when all of the games released on it are just console ports, even the supposed exclusives you could later on be played on other systems.
