Korean and Hong Kong Nintendo Switch didn't have eShop until now, but that's getting fixed.

Both Nintendo of Korea and Hong Kong announced that eShop support and Nintendo Account would be coming to Switch on upcoming month, April 3rd, but with limitations.

Players will now be able to redeem download code on eShop, and redownload the software they already downloaded and deleted.

However, players still can't buy games through, or play games online with other players using this account.

Oh awesome.

However, players still can't buy games through, or play games online with other players using this account.

Not so awesome.......

Have they added system language support yet?

Huh.

When did the Switch release in each respective place?

March 2017 for Hong Kong. December 2017 for Taiwan and South Korea.

But the issue was
1. No eshop support
2. No system language support (only in game)

About time. Makes it possible to people in those countries to enjoy a much wider variety of games without the need of a foreign Nintendo Account (which children and most 'casual' players of course don't want to be bothered with).

Why is it taking so long for it to run like the other Eshops? Korean/Chinese laws or something?

Wow. So how are physical game sales in each region then? Or is everyone just making foreign eShop accounts?

Some games have Chinese/Korean translation and are sold officially.
For everything else you either import or make a foreign eShop account.

Yeah, that's exactly the situation in Latin America (excluding Mexico). Countries like Argentina and Peru have this version of the eShop too.
Speaking of which, I wonder if there was a way to know Switch's sales in Latin America, I'm really curious about that

Something similar is happening in some countries of LatAm (Arg, Chile, Peru), with these accounts you CAN play online thought

Nintendo did the same thing with some South American countries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Peru. Even though the only country of these in which the Switch has launched officially is Chile.

I'm surprised to see it sold so well here, given that farcical limitation.

So for users to get digital games, they would have to go to "Download Code Store" where you can get the codes that you can register on eShop.

This is the screenshot of the available games as of now.
