Software sales are at 86.93 million units. It should beat GameCube's full LTD by the end of the next quarter.

So how much is it up by this Quarter?

Regardless though, fantastic numbers and looks like it's not losing any momentum at all. Holiday is going to do wonders for these numbers with Smash and Pokemon. Though I'm guessing this quarter will be a bit weaker.

I'm sorry, but I laughed at the "hard_soft/index.html" in the URL. (I know it's been round forever but I just noticed it now)

Great result for the Switch! Just under 2 million to go before GC is outsold.

Very solid numbers considering the release schedule during the period.
Calm before the storm.

1.88 seems low to me. Looks like they are banking everything on November and December.

It sold way more than I was expecting. Down from 100k is quite good considering that the lineup last year was better.

This statement is likely true for all 3 console manufactures this year...okay MS might have a tougher time outside of UK/US...but for Sony and Nintendo Holiday season should be massive.

Yeah...they started last years period with MK8 and still had the launch bonus/boost from BotW.
They had nothing even close to those games in this years period.

Nice figures, even nearly outselling the best Nintendo console in 2 years.
Now gimme dat sweet MP trilogy for Switch.

Wonder what cards they have up their sleaves for the next few months.
They said they didn't show everything yet.

I stay with the same opinion since early May... down Q1, down Q2 and Q3 having a hard time to cover these two quarter when it needed to be avg. 35% up to reach these 20 million forecast.

I expect a forecast revision in October.

Disappointing it's down for the same period last year when supply was still limited in areas of some regions, but they'll have all their hype back at the end of the year.

Yeah. Xbox is a weird one, really can't tell how well they'll do. Nintendo have Smash and Pokemon, Sony will have Spider-Man and some strong bundles like FIFA and Red Dead 2. Not to say the content on Xbox is lacking, mind, just not sure what they'll be using to drive unit sales.

Sony announced 20.1 million PS4's sold on March 1st, 2015. Which is less than 16 months on the market. Switch is about at that 16 month mark.

That it's keeping pace with PS4 with one less holiday season is remarkable. I think the wild swing between Wii and Wii U makes it seem that Nintendo only has boom or bust as it's two sales potentials. The Switch is following the typical sales pattern of a traditionally successful console. When is the last time that's been the case for Nintendo? SNES?

A really close tie I think. Within the same time frame of 16 months the PS4 had sold 20m. Its pretty much following closely to PS4 sales, but PS4 had the advantage of 2 fall holiday sales and Switch has only had 1.
20M is sell-through, so not exactly the same. Shipment was 22.3M.
But If we remove the 1st holiday of PS4 (FY13Q3) on the market and add FY15Q1, we get 20.8M though. (source: http://www.sie.com/en/corporate/data/hardware_sale.html )

It is on all the numbers they updated... which means the wiiu DID SOLD SOMETHING in 2018 ! =O
If I didn't have a Wii U already it's a wonderful time to go shopping now, GameStop Italy was just selling both Tokyo Mirage Sessions and Bayonetta 1+2 at 12 euros each, and even stuff like Mario Maker is under 30 euros right now
