Serious question, is it okay to openly be happy when these stories end like this and to hope they have these kind of endings, or do I still for the sake of “decorum” or “moral high ground, being the better person, not lowering myself” have to pretend that I am not full of joy when murdering scumbags who would kill others (and in this case did) for not being straight white cis males get erased from existence like they deserve?
If you have to ask that question, you probably already know the answer. Not saying you should be shedding tears for the asshole, God knows I won't, but rejoicing over the loss of life, even scumbags like him, isn't really a good thing. Trust me, being black myself, I know what it's like sometimes to want death for people like him when they hurt or kill one of us or any minority ,but ultimately we're better than that and them, and can show it by not acting the way they would when one of us dies or is killed.
The guy was clearly complete garbage, but having him answer for his crimes by rotting in a cell the rest of his life would have been better than the easy way out he took.... which is probably exactly why he did it.
