What are some non-VR games that work well on PC using mods, emulators and programs such as VorpX? Is RE4 in VR as cool as it sounds?

Distance is a neon-infused stunt racer based on the developer's previous work, Nitronic Rush.
Kind of cheating, but the devs behind Distance came to our school a few years ago to test VR functionality. It shows just how much immersion you can add just by putting people in a virtual cockpit.

Doom 3 feels like it was made for VR. The short stubby weapons are perfect for one handing and there are all the holographic touch-screen interfaces.

Pretty much any emulator that does SBS 3D is awesome with BigScreen/Virtual Desktop.

The emulator doesn't even need to support SBS natively. Reshade's SuperDepth3D will allow you to get great 3D in most games. 3D works great with Cemu using this method.

Speaking of the above method, Pinball is awesome in VR with stereo 3D.

Visual Pinball has begun offering native VR support, but at this point, even the convoluted SuperDepth3D method is probably still easier to get working (SuperDepth3D is worth the effort BTW):

Even simple 2D things like Tempest 4000, when played on a giant virtual screen in Virtual Desktop, is the superior way to play that game IMO.
