Just stumbled upon this on Reddit.
An Xbox user in China claims they were able to use a CFE to NVMe adapter to plug a non-Seagate Expansion Card into the external expansion port in the back. They used a similar SSD model to the one that is installed internally on the Series X, a 1TB Western Digital SN530 m.2 2230, and the console recognized it immediately and gave the user 867 GB of extra storage.
Now, I can't tell if any of this is true and apparently they haven't tested other brands, but this could be big if true.
Expand me with a converter if old.
