I don't understand why companies don't just put every single damn video game soundtrack on Spotify and Apple Music. Can't it only benefit them?
You've made a friend this day. Getting on that quick. It's fucking amazing. Counterattack is just on a whole another level.
That soundtrack is on sale as MP3, though, in Amazon, iTunes and Google, alongside the soundtrack for the Torna expansion if you want it.
Ignoring licensing rights, there really isn't a good reason that I know of, of why they don't monetize this stuff on digital and streaming platforms.I don't understand why companies don't just put every single damn video game soundtrack on Spotify and Apple Music. Can't it only benefit them?
I will give Atlus props for KOF XIII though. I'm not 100% sure if they put every song that was actually in the game on the pack-in OST.Ever since my first CD pack-in during the PS2 days (is that where pack-in soundtracks started?) I've been gravely disappointed by them. Hell that's what led me to start ripping tracks on my own.

this post made me relisten to the soundtrack and now I'm tempted to rebuy the game on the switch just for the music
what has any of this to do with preservation? There's no legal way of listening to any of this music, and knowing Nintendo, there will never be. Between this and the constant copyright striking of rom communities, it's clear that Nintendo doesn't give a fuck about preservation.
Now that some music has been removed from YouTube all of the original masters Nintendo has stored will suddenly disintegrate...?it's clear that Nintendo doesn't give a fuck about preservation.
It's been so hard to find 3H music. I love the soundtrack too, fucking tragic.
I wouldn't care if they would at least put this shit on Apple Music / Spotify. Seriously, either give us a legal way to stream the music or stop going after these reuploaders.
It's almost as if negotiating music rights is hilariously complex. You'd think the state of Final Fantasy tracks in Smash would clue people in on that, but...
Look at the current amazon prices, clearly it was a limited thing.
Guess we'll have to listen to it by "other" means. Good job nintendo.
yeah which kinda makes it a little weird to catch a ban for saying you'll acquire the music elsewhere... the videos were pulled because they were unauthorized uploads of copyrighted material. not sure why it would matter morally if you listen to it on a stream or download it from a torrent or w/e.Just because something is on Youtube, doesn't technically make it legal.
If you're ok with listening to copyrighted music on Youtube that isn't getting monetized by the copyright owners, why not just acquire it through other means?
I'm surprised they aren't selling vynyl records, CD's are a bit too modern to Nintendo.
Lots of piracy encouragement, even admittance, ITT. What the hell.
I think people tend to have a much softer stance on piracy when it comes to things like music or pornography in general. Avoiding pirated content on YouTube is almost a skill in and of itself.Lots of piracy encouragement, even admittance, ITT. What the hell.
ok, but we're talking about unauthorized uploads. that's why they were removed.Youtube is not piracy... it has basically any song ever made, many uploaded by the own artist page.
How would you recommend I buy this soundtrack legit?Lots of piracy encouragement, even admittance, ITT. What the hell.

Thanks for the spoilers. It's sad because i really want to jam with those who slither in the dark. Spoilers i guess
That's fine because they're uploaded by the official publishers. This is different.Youtube is not piracy... it has basically any song ever made, many uploaded by the own artist page.
Would you say the same about downloading roms of games that aren't available for purchase anymore?
