See I understand why Nintendo does this, it's their property after all and people make money off it.
However they sit on a frikkin gold mine in terms OST for their games, they could do something themselves for the fans that love their music and make good money out of it. I'd bite on a subscription for instance, they could upload it themselves on a specific music channel, they could release it on streamingservices, they could somehow integrate the music library in an upgraded NSO subscription or whatever.
There are tons of possibilities.

They're one decade behind from other companies when it comes to popular techs. They probably have no idea that music streaming services is a thing. Give them time, they'll probably upload them officially at some point.
I'd like to think this is because they're putting all their soundtracks up on Spotify et al. — but this is Nintendo we're talking about here.

You know, there's a lot of illegal uploads on YouTube, and these happened to be some of them. You guys go into YouTube and assume that all the music in the world should be at your disposal for free there, but that's not how it works. At least not forever.

Er. Nintendo own these, it's in their right. Copyright laws are f*cked as it is, to be honest. One thing that boggles my mind is how people are allowed to stream games and earn money whilst streaming unlicensed music in the background. How is that allowed and yet posting on Youtube isn't?
Yet it's only nintendo that ever has problems with this sfuff.
This is rich coming from the company that has zero issues continuing to sell a garbage, broken product to consumers. The drifting joy-cons are the most abymally shit hardware on store shelves and Nintendo just keeps selling it. I'd love to see their garbage removed from store shelves in the EU.

They own the music. They can take down fans stolen rips whenever they want. Anyone else can too, although obviously many choose not to. That's their right as the copyright holder.
Yup. It's on the rights holder to issue takedown requests. If other companies don't dedicate manpower or legal counsel towards it, that's on them.
It's shitty for the average fan, but all of them would be in the clear to remove their music from Youtube.

I may hang onto it and give it away at some point, but I've never met anyone in person who would really care, and living in Korea makes it not really worth it to ship.

That's very intentional, Their names used to be switched at first too, [the account currently named] SilvaGunner was always supposed to be a parody of the one that uploaded the actual OSTs.
hehe yeah likely... they're still very protective and conservative with their property.. though we've seen they are able to lighten up a bit with both Mario x Rabbids and Cadence.. hopefully they can start doing something with their goldmine.. soonish.

I'm not sure what soundtracks you've been buying, but separate OST releases generally have all the tracks. At worst maybe some licenced track or a couple of slight variations to some theme is missing, but in general OST releases are pretty good with having all tracks included, from my experience, even some 5 second jingles or game over music.
Limited/collector's editions of games with big OSTs usually only have some "Musical selections" CD that comes with 4-12 tracks of the full OST, but yeah, if we are talking about full, official, separate OST releases, I haven't noticed any particular trend of omitting noticeable parts of the soundtrack. Like, my Fire Emblem Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn OSTs are both 4CDs with around 60 and 80 tracks.
Let Nintendo handle their property the way they want. If they don't want their music uploaded on Youtube and don't want to release it themselves either, except as a few incomplete and rare CDs, then that is their right. You don't get to order them how *they* use their own IPs. Not that I'm not disappointed in their decision either, but, it's their right. We are not entitled to anything.
Keep in mind that a lot of this music isn't available to stream in Japan either, likely because Nintendo uses third party distributors to publish their soundtracks. They likely have a say on whether or not they'll allow that music to release anywhere that isn't with them.
I didn't get off the main menu of Three Houses before I went looking for the OST, but I can't buy it anywhere so I listened to a rip instead. Just let me buy all your music day and date you mad bastards it's not that hard. I've spent hundreds of dollars on indie OSTs because if I hear music I like I will immediately buy it.

Square Enix was (is?) notorious for cracking down on people sharing their music, especially from Final Fantasy.
Bamco (well Columbia Music) takes down iM@S music all the time. That's why most of the music on YouTube is gameplay clips - they only have the cut down version of tracks. In fact Love Live and iM@S music have been some of the most problem inducing music for High Quality Rip uploaders SiIvaGunner.

If Nintendo monetizing from an OST is your concern, you can find a few of them on iTunes:
* Xenoblade 2
* Xenoblade 2 - Kingdom of Torna
* Bayonetta 2
* Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee and most other Pokemon OSTs
* Some Wii U OSTs, like Wonderful 101 and Xenoblade X
3H's OST will probably will be announced near the release of the DLC - Fates's OST took a while to be released since it included the Heirs of Fate music.
While is it annoying I do hope that most people complaining take the chance of buying the OST's when they're easily available - Xenoblade 2's OST is on sale as a digital download, worldwide.
Everyone talking about streaming platform X Y and Z just make me feel old lol. I still buy the CD soundtracks from Amazon Japan and rip to flac!

Same here. It's an option for new games but SNES OSTs are long out of print, if they were released at all.
Nintendo finds new and exciting ways to shit on their fan in the pursuit of nickles and dimes, time and time again.
So, they're indeed doing this manually. It must take ages checking every single video if they're including gameplay or not.
