NPD April 2018: God of War #1 software, PS4 tops hardware charts

So with Tropical Freeze at #5 here, I went back to the old site to see how it faired back on Wii U, and wow it didn't even break the Top 10.

Boxed software has been at $60 for at least 12 years now. Inflation isn't really applicable here.
Damn, too many people buying a second DS4 so they don't wait while they charge the first :p
Hey maybe now the dev team can afford some better animators and some people that actually care about pushing the graphics and franchise into the next gen. MLB THE SHOW has been stale for years. It's a great game if it is your first time for sure, but I'm tired of it. I wish them all the best.

BotW is like the definition of an evergreen title. It'll keep selling for the entire lifespan of the Switch. Especially if they release an edition that has all of the DLC.

No surprises here. God of War was primed to be the system's biggest hit and it didn't disappoint.
I don't even like MLB, but I'm surprised that each year the game is barely mentioned as great game even when it performs incredible well both critically and on sales
God lf War deserves all the success, its the best PS4 game, and thats saying something. Bloodborne, Uncharted 4, Persona 5, Horizon etc are heavyweights in their own right.

God of War not on 2 is VERY surprising to me. So...I guess my 2M sales prediction was a bit too high?
I'd argue a PS5 would be a huge hit to the PS4's popularity. Not to say the PS4 couldn't still be a success if Sony continued to push it but a brand new next gen console would but an immediate serious dent in the PS4's status.
It's as much an evergreen title as SMO and MK8DX. If you're buying a Switch for the first time, you're almost assuredly picking two of those three up with it.
On the Xbox chart. Pardon me for not specifying something that's in the OP.
Some are freakishly quick to lash out at any praise for that game :P
