Huh. Was Splatoon 2 ever in the top 20 in the last few months?
I wonder if Nintendo will throw some dev support at it given its stellar performance. Maybe some quick cash in ds ports?
People are not going to buy Xboxes and Playstations just for MHW. The Switch is also still the hottest system atm. It's no surprise really.
Hm. Let's get that to top 15 for February.

Monster Hunter Worlds opening was so big it's already the best selling one I think.
I'll have to check the actual comparisons later.
I can see the argument for Spider-Man to push systems, but I feel like anyone that wants GoW already has a PS4, and SotC for damn sure is like that.I'm sure God of War will move some ps4s. SoTC maybe idk.
Spider Man too
158K in 2017.Xbox One's best January, congrats. Likely the X doing well. What was the previous best?
They'll need a from-the-getgo great selling fighting game to get out of the wheelchair though.
I wouldn't bet on it. 3DS hardware sales are strong because the system is so cheap and has seven years worth of an amazing library, so it's easy for people to jump in.I wonder if Nintendo will throw some dev support at it given its stellar performance. Maybe some quick cash in ds ports?
Yep. Loved the Budokai games.ASW's niche status was never going to be an issue as long as the game was good and got the proper marketing.
It was seen as a return to "proper fighting games" after all the Tenkaichi/Raging Blast/Xenoverse games.
The last 2D console DBZ fighting game was what, Burst Limit? 10 years ago.
Plus some other things helped, like Super being an ongoing series and Mahvel failing hard. Oh, and DBFighterZ being simple to pick up helps a ton, too.
Regardless, I'm glad the game is doing well and hopefully it will get support for a long time.
3DS sales have to be surprising Nintendo. Who knew 7 years after release with a hot new platform released the device would still keep selling.
I can't agree with this. Well, I guess I should ask you to qualify what "a ton" is. I mean, there might not be 100 (or there might be for all I know), but I'd say the 50-75 out is pretty solid for a system that's not even been out a year.
Time to crank out a new Capcom Fighting Jam with some real budget behind it.They'll need a from-the-getgo great selling fighting game to get out of the wheelchair though.
Yeah, completely agreeI can see the argument for Spider-Man to push systems, but I feel like anyone that wants GoW already has a PS4, and SotC for damn sure is like that.

It's software, on the other hand, isn't really lighting up the charts. I think Samus Returns was the last game that even chatted on NPD?
Yeah, brainfart. Edited my postPokemon says hi ^^
But yeah I agree the 3DS doesnt need additional games, its library is already attractive but its active userbase is mainly gone.
This is very good
- Total: $1.096 billion (up 59 percent from $690 million in January 2017)
- Hardware: $278 million (up 119 percent from $127 million)
- PC and console software: $517 million (up 51 percent from $343 million)
- Accessories: $301 million (up 37 percent from $220 million)
I just realized that SFV:AE didn't chart on even PS4's top 10, let alone the overall top 20. I guess even one of their wildest successes in recent memory had to come with one little downer.
Pokémon had to chart, right? But yeah, you're right. Software isn't really moving. It's quite the anomaly.I wouldn't bet on it. 3DS hardware sales are strong because the system is so cheap and has seven years worth of an amazing library, so it's easy for people to jump in.

But at the same time where are the new games? Nintendo can say all they want that they will continue to support the system but there are no new games on the horizon.I mean, they have continually stated their intent to produce and support the system. It's mostly folks like us who saw its decline as inevitable in light of the Switch. Except well, a Switch is still pricey while the 3DS has a phenomenal library of games to pick up. They are gonna stretch it out as long as is feasible.
Maybe SotC maybe not. I can see GOW selling to a lot of lapsed gamers (it's playing at NBA games) and Xbox owners.I can see the argument for Spider-Man to push systems, but I feel like anyone that wants GoW already has a PS4, and SotC for damn sure is like that.
We know the average selling price is way over 60 thanks to all those deluxe editions and collectors, but even if we go 'crazy' and put an asp of ~80$ the opening is over 500k units. The lower the asp, the bigger the number gets.Just to give a slight reference, this means the game generated revenues of over $40 million.
I'm not surprised. There was no push for it. Capcom didn't even put any effort on its Amazon store page.I just realized that SFV:AE didn't chart on even PS4's top 10, let alone the overall top 20. I guess even one of their wildest successes in recent memory had to come with one little downer.
Really don't see a niche title like sotc moving consoles. And not really gow either. It's a much tamer Kratos and it's a narrative driven game. Ppl interested in that time of game already have a PS4 due to tlou or horizon or uncharted. If it was more dude bro like former gow games it would attract a different audience. An audience that may not yet own a ps4Maybe SotC maybe not. I can see GOW selling to a lot of lapsed gamers (it's playing at NBA games) and Xbox owners.
