It's really sad to see how people mock or give shit to people like Benji and Mat who continue to actively give insight and commentary.
I've basically vanished from actively participating in the forum, I got tired of a lot of the crap, so I just kinda went dormant and became a watcher instead of a commenter. It's really depressing how people can take the good will of those who take their time and initiative to share their insight and access with people and shit all over them.
Maybe re-evaluate why you come to the forum and participate in these threads? If you can't do so with a clear mindset, this might not be worth even coming into the thread in the first place.

A lot of people were sure that Bomb Raider would be totally fine and Spider-Man would have no impact on it.
PS4 continues to sell like a beast. Outperforming and breaking records monthly. How is it selling better than it did when it first came out...The console is on its last years yet its still absolutely killing. That's insanity. 100 million by March is happening. When all's said and done, it'll comfortably sit right under PS2 as the best selling system of all time. Spider-Man and RDR2 this year is going to kick it to 90+ alone. Spider-Man is equally impressive. Sales of that game are going to be ridiculous whenever Sony announces them. Wonder how much it sold.
Again the narrative on the success of Labo has changed, similar to Monster Hunter and the legs talk. Not trying to keep bringing it up but if you go back and read the threads on Labo pre release the picture is quite different than what you're suggesting.
Congrats to Insomniac, playing the game right now and I'm really enjoying It.
As for the other games, Forza Horizon is the main Forza game now, Tomb Raider did Ok and Square Enix should've released DQ in a more quiet month.

Some amazing number across the board. Congrats to Sony and Insominac for the success of Spiderman. Game is selling gangbusters.
With that said, I was not shocked at the Spiderman selling so well. What did shock me in the OP was that the "X" is currently the best selling Sku for MS. I knew they had the most dollars because of the price difference between the "S" and the "X", but for them to have the most units with the "X" as well is impressive and them being up 60% YOY in dollar sales is damn impressive. I really thought and Phil Spencer made the same comments that the "S" or "base" models would sell the most.

- Reading that excerpt, it doesn't seem like SOTTR did too bad there. I don't have any interest in the Tomb Raider franchise but I do have interest in the rumored Guardians of the Galaxy game that Eidos Montreal is making and they don't need any added pressure from execs
- Glad to see Odyssey crush it as well since it's apparently a very good video game going by reviews/impressions and has been getting heaps of negativity on the Internet despite that. Can't wait to pick it up on Black Friday!

It wasn't just one person though. Many thought it would underperform, and more still thought it would not outsell God of War. Some thought such talk was outright bonkers, that the Spider-Man IP in games simply didn't have that sort of sway. It certainly wasn't an isolated opinion.
Labo causing so much schadenfreude is just plain weird in a sales thread. I think some people hated it from the start and just couldn't handle people genuinely believing in it and they've been partying ever since it became clear it would bomb. I mean the whole reason Mat belived in the project and was excited about it (I assume) was because of how disruptive and out of left field it was. When you follow sales data for so long that kind of project should at the very least interest you for its potential, instead it's being used as the butt of a joke. Makes you wonder what we're doing here really.
