This chart revenue based. TLOU did big numbers but maybe a lot of that is on discounted copies.
Breath of the Wild has shown unprecedented longevity. Super Mario Odyssey is not even on this list, which I found incredibly surprising.
Wow its basically the same. Although a lot of stuff like Guitar Hero and Wii Fit are on there because of really expensive peripherals.
As a general rule of thumb when it comes to exclusives, Nintendo dominates even without reported digital numbers. That's less that Sony does poorly with their exclusives and more just how powerful Nintendo's heavy hitters have been and will remain.
I think Ghosts is that high because at the time it was the only CoD on next-gen consoles. With it also releasing on PS3 and Xbox 360 before the initial PS4 and XB1 release I'd imagine there was also quite a lot of people double dipping.
Minecraft and Destiny the only new IPs on the list (of course, after all the top selling games of an entire decade are going to be the most popular existing properties). Destiny's success is great to see.
Also keep in mind Nintendo rarely, if ever, discounts the price of their prestige games. Breath of the Wild will be sold from them at MSRP until the heat death of the universe.
Yeah jump to EU and the list would be whole different, fill it with FIFA

GTAV, RDRII, Skyrim, Minecraft, Mario Kart 8 and BotW are all some of the best reviewed game of all time though
And right below those shooters are sports games once again.
Dont forget the 90s where it was just Platformers and Sports games.
tl;dr sports games are the best selling genre of games in the US since the dawn of gaming.
Red Dead Redemption 2 selling more than Skyrim is really hard to understand, could they possibly have made a mistake?
This is US only. Skyrim probably sold a lot more than RDR2 rest of the world.
NPD didn't count digital sales when Skyrim released, and I'm sure games like Minecraft and Skyrim would move up the rankings if digital was included.
