Looks like benchmarks leaked for the 2060, article claims at 1080p and 1440p its similar to the 1080 with ray tracing off. Supposed to be bundled with Battlefield and Anthem too at $349

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 – This what RTX On and RTX Off Looks Like
There's also RTX numbers as many were speculating that the RTX 2060 may have underperformed when it comes to the ray tracing feature. That may not be the case and the performance is actually similar to that of the RTX 2070 with RTX enabled. Following are some numbers:

  1. Battlefield V: RT Off: 90 FPS
  2. Battlefield V: RT On + DLSS Off: 65 FPS
  3. Battlefield V: RT On + DLSS On: 88 FPS
Here you can see that NVIDIA is putting more emphasis on the use of DLSS with RTX enabled to gain the same performance numbers as you would with RTX disabled. One more thing to note is that with RTX on Ultra at 1080p, the card scores 58 FPS while with Medium preset, it scores 66 FPS. Similarly, at 1440p, the card has a 10 FPS difference between RTX Ultra and RTX Medium preset.

I guess don't expect to be using RTX at 4k with this card

It looks like a good upgrade from my 970...
yeah i'm in the same boat, curious to see where 1080 prices are after this launch but I'm leaning toward a 2060 for my next upgrade as I only got 2 1080p monitors.

There's also a rumored 1160 card in the works that forgoes RTX for a slightly lower pricepoint but no real specs yet besides its lower than the 2060

oh damn thats an okay priced card.

Just not sure if I care enough to upgrade from my 470 to this. I just havent felt the need to on PC.

but I feel like this is a good sign for second gen RT cards and going forward.

That sounds like a great price for that card. Looking forward to seeing benchmarks for it (and also how much it will actually cost at retail...).

If this is true and the price is less than $399, I might upgrade my 970 (what a beast of a card the 970, my god)

so xx60 costs now almost as much as xx70 cost last gen. Lol. Still, the performance looks solid at least.

So basically a slightly worse gtx 1080 but with a RTX option for not much less than what I paid for my 1080.

349 sound good but I'm expecting the card to sell for closer to 399 in the beginning.

The resale value of 1070, 1070 Ti and 1080 is gonna take a hit so if you wanted to sell yours for whatever reason do it now.

Well now. I was planning on upgrading my 970 to a 1070 in the next month or so. I guess I might just go 2060 but I am still using a 4790k so I'm not sure if the CPU will be a bottleneck.

Hmm, so slighly better than a 1070 Ti. It might still be a better purchase just for Tensor cores, but I'm curious about Pascal prices after this.

Are these numbers off a benchmark mode for each game? I see no information about settings used. Maybe missing it.

seems ok if you're stuck at 1080/60hz, but the jump to 1440/120hz or above seems way better than RTX right now

I don't trust the benchmarks on this and bumping the ##60 line up $100 is just gross.

We really need Navi to show up and give Nvidia some competition.

There's been rumors about GTX 11 series (1160 and lower) with no raytracing support, if there's any truth to these rumors, I wouldn't be surprised with a mid $200s card with close to 1070 performance or something like that (a GPU with 1536 SPs was rumored months ago, something like this could fit well for the mid-range prices, I guess. For comparison, the RTX 2060 will apparently have 1920 SPs).

If it comes bundled with games, I could almost swallow the $100+ price hike.
Seems like it may be bundled with BFV or Anthem, apparently?

The biggest news to me is DLSS support for BFV. Would love to be able to get some more image quality out of the game by enabling that. Probably would help RTX image fidelity a lot especially.

My 2080 can't maintain 1080 60 with RTX on any setting in BFV. These perf numbers are bullshit
60FPS with RTX enabled? I thought that the RTX 2070 and up had trouble doing that?

2 things:

1. With the patches now, a 2080 should do 1080 60 RTX Ultra trivially. GrizzNKev, have you tried it recently? What's your CPU?

2. They're talking about doing this with DLSS on, which afaik was not even announced as a feature coming to BFV. That would make a substantial performance increase, because they're implying this is 1080p reconstructed from a lower res (maybe less than 900p?)

What processor you running? Did you update your drivers and the game?

My CPU is an i7 8700, game runs great at 1440p with RTX off. If there's something up with my setup I'd love to get to the bottom of it. The entire PC is brand new.

Wait, I'm out of the loop but dlss works on sub 4k resolutions now? I thought dlss rendered at 1440p and upscaled to 4k?

Have you tried it recently with recent Nvidia drivers?

FWIW I was never able to isolate my problems on my 4 CPU thread PC to the CPU or the OS installation. I wonder if there is a OS installation problem that some of us have experienced which is crippling BFV RTX performance.

It has been often implied by Nvidia that it is possible, but never explicitly stated nor has there been a public demo available that supported sub 4K DLSS. Seems obviously technically possible but potentially suboptimal.

My guess is Nvidia is still working on it and is not sure themselves about the result.

I'd buy at that price, since i don;t care about raytracing until more games implement it and the tech is refined.

Yeah, using the drivers from Dec. 12, the DLSS update for FFXV.

From those leaks a 1080 still beats it. And right now a Vega 64 beats a 1080 with latest drivers. And can be had for $399 with $150 worth of games.

If Navi or Vega 2 hits those numbers or better which it is supposed to be for under $300.

If rumors are true though. But honestly makes the 2070 irrelevant.
