I held off on upgrading my 1080 Ti because I didn't feel the 2080 Ti was enough of an upgrade in raw performance to justify the cost, especially for a new feature that had little to no support at launch. Hopefully this changes with the 2080 Ti Super (along with HDMI 2.1).

Glad I held off on upgrading to a 2080/2080 Ti. Really want to upgrade in time for Cyberpunk, but are we expecting something big next year? I'm not really in the GPU loop like I used to be.

Dang, I still have a 980 Ti and there are folks talking about upgrading or being disappointed in their 2080 Ti. LOL

Is it weird that I have always been irrationally bothered by the uneven number of 11GB VRAM in the 2080 Ti card?

Lets just put 16GB in the 2080 Ti Super and be legends.

I have a 2080ti but I'm always looking for more power (without SLI), for battlefield V high FPS/ultrawide

If it's reasonable I'll upgrade but I'm fine with stay still for now

I've been wanting more juice, think I ll sell my 2070 to my friend and go 2080 super. I wonder how this will affect the vanilla 2080ti prices when the 2080ti super hits later on? I could see 2080 super at 700 and the vanilla ti at 900-1000? 2080ti super at 1200-1300? I can't imagine it being cheap when there is no competition at that level

While it would be cool if 2080 Super would essentially be a 2080Ti @ $700, I somehow doubt that they'll do it.
And if 2080 Super is just 2080 with all SMs active and faster G6 then there will be zero point in upgrading to it from a 2080.

Seeing the number of people just in this thread willing to upgrade after owning a RTX card for a few months is kinda funny

Overclocked a 1070 to 2.1Ghz. I'm basically just behind a stock 1080. More than happy with my purchase for now. Don't you feel pissed, Nvidia releasing a refresh so soon? Hell, I would be fuming if i just bought a 2070! Me thinks AMD definitely gave them a scare haha.

Also, don't forget NV could pull the same shenanigans with the Super line and lock down OC potential so performance doesn't overlap just like the 1070 Ti. In some cases it might be better to grab a stock 2070/2080 and OC it. Reviews should tell more.

Yeah, it'd have to be a considerable boost for many to feel an upgrade or swap is even worth it I'd imagine.

That's it, I'm upgrading my whole rig once 2080ti Super arrives! The GPU is a 1080ti but the CPU, RAM, MB etc is over 5 years old now.

Just wait until the card that chews through RT games is out around the time where almost every big PC game has RT (not Nvidia only RTX but one that all modern cards use when it's in full swing). This Super line is also likely test level cards, selling the previous just for a newer rendition seem like a waste.

Considering that 2080ti Super is rumored to launch "later" than other Super cards, I wonder if it will launch in autumn in which case it will probably be some 6-9 months till 7nm Ampere lineup. Queue lots of "but I've just got my 2080Ti Super!" posts here.

There will always be something better out if you just wait a bit more, but waiting is no fun ;)

If AMD isn't doing this yet. I can not see Nvidia. I still think we are a ways off from this.

I think I'll keep my 1060 until 7nm. I'm only playing at 1080p and there isn't any demanding game releasing soon.

What the fuck...got a 2080Ti at the end of November and they are already releasing a refresh?
I might consider selling my card if there's any significant improvement.
Anyone knows what's the best and safest way to sell a GPU in the UK?

Jesus, why would anyone with a 2080ti already be planning to incrementally upgrade? I'm still on a 980ti and I'm strongly considering holding out until 2020 at least.

I'm in a weird upgrade bind, my current rigs have these cards:

Desk PC: 1080 Ti
HTCP on 1080p TV: 980 (not Ti)

Even though my Desk PC has a 21:9 3440x1440 monitor, I don't really play anything where I notice any performance degradation. In the same way, I haven't played anything where the 980 in my HTPC has presented problems, but I'm going to upgrade that TV to an HDR 4k TV this year (in the next month or two probably), so I will definitely want an upgrade. The HTPC is in a mITX case though (Silverstone RVZ02) which has length and height restrictions, so I'm not sure any of these cards would fit (though I can run it open on the top where the GPU is if i want, just have to keep it dusted.

I guess I'll wait and see what the 4k performance is of these and see if it's worth upgrading when there's actual benchmarks.
