$550 would be acceptable for a partner card even without the current situation. Honestly I would just order one at that price, prices are likely going to go even higher before they come down.
So did I, but the GB one at the top is within the expected 3rd party RRP.
You're looking at probably a 6 month wait. How's EVGA with their site's queue system? I put in for a chance at a 3070 last month, and nothing's been sent yet.
Anyone ever get a GPU with this method?
putting aside $800 or so to buy one off ebay.Trying to get a 3060 next month, what would be the best way of ensuring I'm able to get one on release? Last time I built a PC graphics card releases weren't like sneaker drops.
I used the hotstock app to be notified of a founders card. you can search for a common model, like an EVGA, and be notified of more places than just best buyTrying to get a 3060 next month, what would be the best way of ensuring I'm able to get one on release? Woke up, bought a 3090.
Not how I thought my day would start but there you go.
I believe you can return it and keep the gpu.Entered Newegg's lottery. I have no need for an Intel motherboard, and have no clue how I'd get rid of it, but a Strix 3080 isn't cheap anyway, so fuck it.
*nods*Right On, brother. Welcome to the 3090 Club.
Man I feel especially good about buying a 3090 when I did now that new 3080s are going for 3090 prices.
Overclockers seemed to have had a large restock yesterday like Best Buy did for NA. probably all gone by now. don't know any trackers, I only knew about this because I browsed the nvidia subredditAny tips on how to get a 3070 in the UK? Twitter accounts to follow or shops to check?
Or are all cards being put into systems, and none will be available for separate purchase?

Would you replace a 2070 super with a 3070 or go straight for a 3080v

I'd say go for the 3080. a 2070 Super to 3070 is no different than a 2080 to 2080 TiWould you replace a 2070 super with a 3070 or go straight for a 3080v
Funny coincidence as I just came here to post that I finally scored my xc3 ultra 3070 via the EVGA queue! Got the email 3 days ago and card came in yesterday.. They even honored the pre- price hike prices. Relieved for the hunt to be over, although I would have been salty if I missed the window as they only give you 8 hours from the notification to purchase and I have 10 hour shifts with very spotty cell service.
I put in for the queue on launch day, October 29th, to give you an idea of where the queue is at... Extremely long wait but may still be your best bet considering how bad stock still is.
Notice the difference ?

Wait for Scan FE drops. This is the only place to get an FE at RRP, which are insane value compared to anything else imo. As soon as one appears, say 3080 - others will follow soon so be ready, watch the discord and be refreshing nvidia.co.uk/en-gb/shop for your card of choice for the new Scan link. Ideally a card you don't want appears first - click it's Scan link, and fill out the multipage "pics with a boat" captcha so you don't get held up trying to check out your card of choice. Keep refreshing Scan periodically to keep your session captcha'd.

I upgraded from a rx 5700xt (2070s equivalent) to a 3080FE. Definitely worth it for 1440p high refresh monitors or a 4k60 experience. I had a 3070, but returned it since the performance was just at best 30% higher and not worth the money.Would you replace a 2070 super with a 3070 or go straight for a 3080v
converting that into American, I'd say yes. here's a build for a similar price from american stores. the gpu is better, but you're also paying for convenience with a pre builtAWD-IT Voyager 5, AMD Ryzen 5, 16GB RAM, 240GB SSD, 2TB HDD, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070, Gaming Desktop PC | Costco UK

I'm a bit of a noob on PC stuff but my computer is over 10 years old and don't game on it. However I plan to start gaming a bit on PC due to gamepass. Is the above deal any good (UK). Not sure this is the right place but you all seem like specialists.
I feel the same the longer this has gone on. I initially was interested in the 3090 until the reviews. Then I couldn't a 3080 and found a Zotac 3090 for $1600. The site I bought it from is now selling it for $2000 (still in stock, lol).Right On, brother. Welcome to the 3090 Club.

Yes, I'm afraid so (and the Scan part, only UK). Similar will surely exist for catching FE drops from Best Buy in USA, but I don't know the details.

what CPU?
I started with a Ryzen 3600, now on a 5800x.
Thanks for the useful information. Ye I was going to upgrade the SSD anyway. The ram I guess I can do sometime down the lineThat seems fair for the price, I had to pay £650 to secure my 3070 so £1300 for a full system is reasonable. The HDD + SSD setup is a little ridiculous, a single 1TB NVME drive is about the same cost and would be a much better choice. The generic "16GB RAM" is a little concerning. Running dual channel "2 sticks" and at XMP speeds has a big impact on gaming performance, so be prepared to tweak/replace the RAM if necessary. Do not just leave it to run as configured out of the box.
Edit: Hidden away it mentions 3000mhz memory, that's not great but as long as you make sure XMP is enabled and it is running in dual channel mode then performance shouldn't be crippled at least.
Nice!! I'll pick up a 3080 when theyre available. I also have a 2070 S + 3600.My monitor is 1440p 165 Hz and I didn't really notice any bottlenecking when running games at that resolution.

Anyone running a 3080 with a 2700x? I'm on a 1440p monitor so I'm hoping the bottleneck would be relatively small, assuming I can ever get a card.
Yeah this is my fear, I just really don't want to do a full new build. The only game really stressing my 1080ti is cyberpunk.
Doubt u need to worry much about CPU bottlenecking when u play on 1440p. I got a 3070 with my old i7 6700 playing at 1440p and my GPU usage still reaches like 90+% when playing Cyberpunk while my CPU hovers around 70%.Yeah this is my fear, I just really don't want to do a full new build. Thanks! That's really good feedback to have. What makes it worse is having a small case that can only fit some of the cards since it's a meshify c. I'll not make that mistake again.Doubt u need to worry much about CPU bottlenecking when u play on 1440p. U got a newer CPU with more cores and also planning to get a better GPU. U will be more than fine.
A 3080 was a bit too much above my budget. I'm used to buying GPUs for around 250 bucks, but went with the 3070 this time, because of the price performance compared to the 2080 Ti. Will probably upgrade the rest of my PC in 2022 when all the new stuff like GDDR5 become mainstream.
3060ti will do the job nicely with your monitor and for your use cases. I don't think that the 3070 is particularly good value tbh, assuming you can get a 3060ti for a good price. If I'm planning on getting a 1440p 144Hz monitor, but 95% of my PC gaming is Dolphin/Cemu and Minecraft (eyeing the RTX version though), am I right in thinking I'd be better off with a 3060 ti over a 3070? I even considered the 3060 over the ti, but I have a feeling Minecraft RTX performance will be lower than I want (waiting for benchmarks though).
Problem with 3060ti (and this is basically all 3000 cards) is that basically only the FE is truly $399 - most AIBs will run the same or very close in price to a 3070 FE anyway.3060ti will do the job nicely with your monitor and for your use cases. I run a 3080 and yet all i've played is VR games and emulators lol, stupidly overkill
