NVIDIA sent out this email to GeForce NOW Founders members announcing they are delaying the initial billing date until June 2020:

As you can imagine, we’re experiencing a substantial increase in the number of GeForce NOW players and their amount of playtime.

While the service continues to grow, we have decided to take this opportunity to show our early Founders members our appreciation, and will not begin billing until June 2020.

Your first charge date has been extended. Please check account.nvidia.com for more information.

Stay safe and happy gaming.

The GeForce NOW Team

Has anyone on here received this email?

Kind of expected it to acknowledge the fact that they're losing basically all their games.

Good gesture though.

I cancelled it last month. It's become a shitty service now. And having big publishers omiss from day one should have been a big red flag to me.

I noticed the date changed earlier when downgrading my account to the Free tier. It's not worth paying for at this point.

Cool of them but I don’t see how the service stays around without becoming stadia. Or least what stadia was supposed to be.

Received the email as well, but at this point the service is barebones when it comes to games that interest me.

Since Ubisoft announced that their game subscription service UPlay+ is being brought to Stadia, I'm thinking of checking out Stadia and their game selection once UPlay+ launches on Stadia.

Why do you think that?

I think it seems fine, it seems very much like a console, but you don't buy the console.

your games are tied to the Service, full price, and can’t be used on your PC if the service is ever disbanded.

add to that, you pay a monthly fee to access the games in quality that’s around 1080p.

Got the mail as well, but I cancelled the subscription some time ago since most devs are leaving the service.

Seems like quite a lot of you love to bash stadia because You don’t agree with the way the gaming is going but look at Nvidia GeForce now it’s really getting hit hard by developers Google isn't stupid they saw this coming. I’m a founder and I’m not happy with the selection of games at this point but I do remember this is a new disruptive technology that’s going to take time To implement and optimize.

I just read the other day in interview where a developer had stated the Google has already started implementing Stadia 2.0 to some developers and that brings improve graphics and frame rates to games new and existing so it looks like Google is continuing to invest and will have an system that can surpass next gen consoles.

We have to take into consideration that we are in niche group of gamers and that the majority of gamers would gladly give up all the “master race” advantages For an inexpensive system with no patching no limitations on hard drive storage and total freedom to play anywhere

If the service goes under (which is entirely possible), then I can agree it would be bad.

But most games you buy are tied to one thing, and can't be played elsewhere. And if they are online and the service goes down you lose access to that too.

As for the monthly fee, it is optional, it does provide you with games, and on console you generally need those online services as well, so it's kind of the same thing as XBL or PSN.

Stream quality isn't amazing right now, but it can be beefed up and it shouldn't cost you anything.

I just think a lot of those criticisms can be applied to the consoles as well.

You can resell physical console games, at least.

Even casuals still want to play with their friends on other platforms, which is not always a given for Stadia. It’s a really hard sell at this stage for anyone that can afford gaming hardware.

To me game streaming is a supplement, nothing more. Geforce Now works fine as a supplement, same does xCloud. You pay to own games on PC/Xbox, and they provide you with streaming as a supplement to that. With Stadia you really have to go all in streaming.

Yeah, I just don't think we are the target. There is better options than Stadia, but they all cost a lot more, and the ease of use is much lower.

Stadia has some problems for sure, but hitting a website, and clicking play, and then your immediately in game is awesome. No patches, no downloads, it's really slick.

I'm not sure what to think about this. On one hand, it's shitty of devs to prevent players from playing games they already own, but at the same time, I respect a developer's right to decide what platforms their game is available on.

Either way, seems like GeForce Now is done for unless Nvidia manages to strike some big deals.

Yeah for sure. I'm really looking forward to using Xcloud supplement my gaming, it's going to be great.

Stadia is definitely all in the streaming, but if your someone who doesn't play many video games anymore, or are kinda thinking of getting into one that you learned about through YouTube or something, then I think Stadia is a great option.

GeForce now was amazing, but clearly it was a little too good to be true.

Sad, as I was hoping it was going to turn into the one streaming platform that fit my needs, but all of them are fundamentally lacking for me.

I just want to be able to get an app on my Fire TV and have both that and my Switch Pro controller fully supported. GeForce Now doesn't support it but I tested it working there, Xcloud isn't there, PSNow isn't there, Stadia wants me to get a Chromecast Ultra, which just won't happen.

I might be reaching a bit here but at what point does it make sense for Nvidia to keep this going and not shut it and sell the service/patents to someone else?

Nvidia has a full virtualization solution portfolio. It still pales in comparison to the hardware business, but GFN is a very small part of the cloud offering.

Nvidia can likely afford to keep it around for quite awhile as long as the rest of the cloud stuff keeps selling.
