If our government went back to the era of claiming 90 cents of every dollar made over approximately $3 million, as we did between 1950 and 1965 (arguably the greatest period of expansion and prosperity in our nation's history), we'd be able to pay for all sorts of things.

If we are going to cite external factors influencing our behavior I would think our decreased exposure to lead is the biggest de-motivator.

Cut tax for the wealthy and raise the deficit so as to undermine any potential future increases in public spending. This is class warfare at it its most obscene.

America needs a goddamn revolution.
