A Brooklyn precinct commander is being investigated by the NYPD for allegedly threatening the celebrity's life — telling his officers at a roll call to "shoot him on sight," the Daily News has learned.

Deputy Inspector Emanuel Gonzalez, the commanding officer of the 72nd Precinct in Sunset Park, allegedly made the threat last June 7, when the actor and "In Da Club" rapper was expected to attend an NYPD sanctioned boxing match in the Bronx.

During a roll call inside the 72nd Precinct stationhouse, Gonzalez told his officers if they saw 50 Cent at the boxing match, known as a smoker, they should "shoot him on sight," a source with knowledge of the case said.

"The inspector just said that at roll call," the source said. "I'm like WTF."

No one recorded the incident, and Gonzalez tried to pass off the bizarre order as a joke. But the matter made its way to police headquarters, which launched a probe.

"The incident is under internal review," a department spokesman said.

A rep for 50 Cent said the Grammy winner had just heard about Gonzalez's "shoot on sight" comment.

"Mr. Jackson takes this threat very seriously and is consulting with his legal counsel regarding his options going forward," the rep said. "He is concerned that he was not previously advised of this threat by the NYPD and even more concerned that Gonzalez continues to carry a badge and a gun."

While that is incredibly inappropriate, it does sound like he meant it as a joke, knowing the context. There was a boxing match or something and he was making a joke. Super dumb and deserves punishment.

"No, no, I meant shoo him on sight, not shoot, this is all a misunderstanding"

Wow, a joke so terrible, shouldn't quit their day job.

Oh, well, maybe they should quit their day job.

Bizzare.

On the one hand, I can see that he's obviously joking, but on the other hand, aren't you a very senior professional officer in an occupation and union absolutely infested with and tarnished by racism and violence and more importantly - horrific training standards and the deliberate hiring of stupider than average officers? (https://www.globalresearch.ca/us-court-ruled-you-can-be-too-smart-to-be-a-cop/5420630 )

Yes, yes you are. So you're the police equivalent of an HR manager at a big coproration making rape jokes at a company meeting. So it kinda doesn't matter that you're joking and on the contrary - you shouldn't ever be jokiung about any of this shit because your department is famous for it actually happening.

How many people here work in a job where they could tell their colleagues and direct reports to kill someone on sight as a joke, and face no repercussions?

Also good to see NYPD spending time and money and manpower on "NYPD sanctioned boxing events." Yeah. OK.

50s troll game catching him more heat than when he was hustling. His reputation is going up.

Stupid fucking pigs don't know bullets can't kill 50 Cent. Somebody already tried that and it didn't work.

All cops are bastards, by the way.

Might be a joke, but jokes, as obvious as they may seem, can sometimes go over a person's head. So a NYPD commander telling any of his officers to do this, joking or not, is probably not the smartest thing.

In a parallel universe, this is a scene from The Officer, new show by Greg Daniels featuring Michael Peña as the titular character.

The NYPD is probably disappointed that Boo from Guy Brewer Ave has been off the streets since Dre signed him.

It may have been more than a joke. This cop was dirty and shaking down businesses. He shook a place out of business that 50 frequented, then 50 trolled him about the incident on Instagram.

I would've assumed it was a joke if not for the fact that the officers he was talking to weren't sure. If the people in the room can't tell you're joking and those are people you talk to every day and give orders to....yeah

The cop was shaking down a club owner for 11 plane tickets. When the owner declined the cop targeted the place for violations until it closed down. 50 used to frequent that club and dirty cop made the news when the club owner sued him. This whole beef started because 50 shared the news article on IG with his troll commentary, and dirty cop was offended at all the comments to 50s post.
