Undergound 2005 probably has the best police chases in the series. It also had heat levels with destructible environments and a bounty system.

Underground for me personally. Great music (!!!!!!!), tracks were solid, car selection was dope and drag racing. I spent so much time in the garage just chilling to the music and customizing my cars. I liked the handling in it than any of the other games. I couldn't get into Most Wanted as much as I hoped I could and the cop chases got annoying.

Of the options available, I chose Most Wanted. I've been playing Underground 2, though, and it is fun, but there's no cops and you have to drive to the start of every event, which becomes tiresome.

My personal fav tbh. Nice nighttime open world. Good continuation story from Most Wanted and the canyon races were really fun imo.
