Found from Twitter, seems that one of Squidlit's tracks "Blipston Theme" seems to bear heavy if not exact similarities to Super Mario RPG's "Hello, Happy Kingdom" track.

Links below to provide context:

I know next to nothing about music and composing it, but it seems that Squidlit uses the virtually the exact same progression but in a major key.
What are your thoughts on it?

As someone deeply familiar with the Super Mario RPG soundtrack, this Squidlit track sounds nothing alike. Maybe that Mr. Domino guy should brush up on his music listening before alleging the game is stealing from Mario RPG.

If you found that interesting, you should look up "video game themes that sound familiar" on YouTube then. There's a crap ton of video game music that sounds the same as songs from a movie or an artist. Not the same as one video game song sounding similar to another video game song but still pretty neat.

The first few phrases are similar for sure, but it deviates from there. The theme in Squidlit is much shorter too, and doesn't have the refrain that Mushroom Kingdom in SMRPG does.

This sorta-kinda thing happens all the time. The Zelda 1 dungeon theme "steals" from a Deep Purple track
