No the other way around is the same. Europe has tax included while the dollar prices are without state tax. Whuch is why the series x is 499 euro and dollar

While that is true, $399 is €330, which ends up being €399 with tax (330 * 1.21), so in this case it's indeed $1 = €1

$399 for the digital edition is the most reasonable prediction.
On flipside they are locking everyone going for DE into PSN Store where every game is hard 70€ for good amounts of time from release.
They could eat that loss because over longterm return via SW will recoup losses and then some.
DE being 449 wouldn't be incentive enough to go for it, imo, if normal is 499.

but the gains they would make by forcing people to but directly from psn essentially would make up for the loss long term, i think.
Aside from people who actively WANT the PS5 to cost more than XBSX, I think everyone would be shocked to see anything other than 399/499
Don't forget the loss will only shrink over time, and Sony doesn't really do price drops anymore. Wouldn't be surprised if it's 2027 and their still selling the PS5 base for $400.
Just like the names in the log, entirely likely the prices are also placeholder. Would be great to see the DE launch at that price but I just don't think it will.
That isn't a credible "rumor" in the slightest. It was clearly an insider spreading bullshit showing that even though they do have access to some information that they should just be ignored for being willing to spread FUD.
