Alright kids its that time of the year again, to vote for the best Chapter and Anime Episode of the year (thunderous applause and cheering).

Now the format for the Chapter of the year is a ranking of 10, each chapter with get a point but the higher you go up the points increase by until first place where it increases by 2 Mario Kart style.

You can format your own personal list how much you want just mark the rankings by Bolding so I can collect the data and put it into the machine and calculate it.

Voting will end on New Years Eve, with results the following Day.

I'll do my rankings from 10 upwards for example later tonight and reveal them through the rest of the week.

Now for anime Episode of the Year, I think we will do a Top 5 Episodes of the Year following the format of Chapter of the Year.

I will do a post later doing a summery of what has happened in both the Anime and Manga this year.

It won't be a long summery but just to give you a gist of where One Piece was at the start of the year in both formats.

The beginning of the One Piece Manga this year was Chapter 929 and the Anime began with Episode 867

Manga Wise:
929 was the first chapter of 2019 that introduced Orochi into the series having the meeting with the CP-0 demanding Vegapunk while giving us a glimpse into his devil fruit

the following two chapters have Big Mom and her crew reach Wano along with Sanji dealing with Page One. Preceding that we have the Incident at the Shoguns Palace with Robin stealing info, Hiyori slapping Orochi, her fake death and escaping with Toko.

Next couple of chapters focus on the prison with Luffy meeting and Saving Hyo, Queen arriving and putting Luffy and Hyo in the ring, Nami and the others exchanging info and getting settled in Ebisu and Zoro trying to get his sword back from Fox-Man as Hiyori and Toko escape as Killer chases them, Shinobu eats Laws Crackers and we see there is more to Tonoyasu.

At night Luffy and Hyo encounter Raizo and Caribou,, coming up with a plan not only to free themselves and Kawamatsu but the prison and strike a blow against Kaido and his forces as Big Mom eneters Udon, Kinemon and Doggy try to lure out Shutenaru as the country is about to be shocked at the public execution of former Daiymo Yasuie.

On the Execution platform Yasuie provides cover for the rebellion to rest and regroup from the breach on info bringing all eyes onto him and slandering the fake Shogun Orochi and sowing doubt into the people of Wano before he is killed, as Toko goes up to the body of her father Orochi men try to kill her too only to be stopped by Zoro and Sanji

As the Strawhats make there escape from the capital & Law approaches Hawkins trying to free his captured comrades, things are heating up in the prison with Queen finding an capturing both Kid and Killer and drowning them as Luffy attempts to interject before Big Mom breaks through the wall, using this as a cover Kiku sneaks n and Raizo makes his move with Queen trying to contain the situation transforms into his dinosaur form as Big Mom says Bitch plz and tosses him like a rag doll.

Luffy utilizes his advanced haki to break a collar and tries to stop Big Mom but gets put into a wall, Queen tries a daring move crashing ontop of Big Moms head failing to stop her but the rush of memories and Big Mom being Big Mom she falls asleep, Queen takes her to Kaido leaving the priosn behind for Luffy and Hyo plan to move into the next pahse.

With the Prison Break, the Beasts Pirates forces still having sway over the prisoners long losing there will to fight orders them to stop Luffy but in the nick of time Raizo frees Kawmatsu and gives Hyo his sword with Kiku coming into to save Luffy and strike a group pose. Luffy puts himself in danger to awaken the hearts and spirits of the broken soldiers proclaiming Kaido power is nothiing, who cares if he is an outsider that nothing will change unless they fight and he will defeat Kaido.

Everything is coming up Rebels besides for Law getting captured to free his crew as Shuntenmaru joins up and the prisoners are fully behind us all thats left is for Zoro and Hiyori to get weapons for the massive force encountering Fox-Man again in the process who leads them to a massive weapon stach developed over years as Hiyori and Kawamatsu reunite and Zoro gets a sword from Hiyori that belonged to Oden in exchanging for returning Shusui

Back in the capital Law beats up Hawkins for what he has done to him and and his crew but before departing with X-Drake, Hawkins reveals it was Appo that betrayed the allaince they were making with Kid as Appo is working for the Beasts Pirates, as Luffy and Hyo train and Kinemon and the rest go over the plans for the Fire Festival....

During this time on Onigashima, Kaido and Big Mom meet for the first time in years starting a clash/fight spliting the sky in two trying to kill each other before they decied you know what lets join forces and take the world by storm and once that is done then kill eachother.

In the final days as preparations are being made for the Fire Festival Zoro receives said sword, Usopp and Franky build/repairs ships to carry there forces that are dwarfed by Kaido's and Orochis, Luffy completes his training. Momonosuke and the Red Scabbards move forwards to the port as Wano Act 2 closes just before knowing that there is a rat in the rebels who has feed new info to Orochi.

On the outside world just like Wano things are picking up, the destruction of the Shikibukai by the Royals of the World and there hunting and capturing by the Marines of the World, something has happened to the Kingdom of Arabasta Princess Vivi, Sabo reportedly in the News something terrible has happened all the while Marine Captain of Sword X-Drake reveals to Coby to pass to the other Marines there woes only grow of the news of the Alliance of Big Mom and Kaido forming the most dangerous crew in the World.

As all this is happening Sengoku informs the young ins in the marines tales of the past of a group of Pirates called Rocks that had people like Whitebeard, Kaido and Big Mom While they all hated each other as major forces in it all lead by a man named Xebec who wished to be King of the World, this crew was only stopped by the combinded forces of Garp and Roger Pirates in an incident known as God's Valley that involved the CD's.

Just setting the stage for how frightful these two Yonkos (who are now much stronger then they were back then) working together will be as we see the bounties of the legends of the past Sakazuki comes in saying they have no forces to spend on Wano, before he departs Sengoku leaves with ominous words about the man named Oden Kozuki.

Now back to Wano, as Orochi heads for the Fire Festival in pleasant and comfortable weather Momonosuke and co are meet with torrential rain but as they reach the port thats been attacked but no allies in sight at the time they are supposed to leave as Kinemon makes a desperate plea to anyone that can hear him over snail.

Orochi before he departed had cut off and destroyed all paths for the various rebels to meet up at the port along with collapsing the cave the Sunny was in, Holdem has burned the town of Kuri to the ground in dangering Otsuru. Despite the pleas of Momonosuke and the situation looking grim the Samurai's of Oden cannot lets this chance to strike down Kaido go as this will be there only shot as we head into the flashback of Oden Chad Kozuki.

As we see the beautiful lush Wano untouched by Kaido we see the early days of delinquent Kinemon looking to make some money by catching a white boar, young Denjiro pulling a quick scheme on an unknowing shopkeeper as Odens father Sukiyaki is told tales of the various actions his son Oden has pulled that has brought shame to them as he deiceds to disowns him, as we see the man of the hour cooking Oden over a dead body pyre just asd the mother of said boar attacks the capital. Kinemon looks on in horror with Denjiro just before they meet Oden for the first time.

Oden, Kinemon and Denjiro (who is fanboying over Oden) learned that the Mother first swallowed Otsuru as we see Kinemon rush towards the Boar not caring one bit for his own safety to save her but just gets hurt and about to die right before Oden comes in, drawing attention of not only the Boar but the town people taking the blame for the incident as the beast charges forwards but Oden makes quick work stopping the beast and saving the others before he is officially disowned with happiness in his heart.

Touched by Odens character Kinemon and Denjiro follow Oden becoming his first followers to Yasuie as we meet the future shogun of Wano, Orochi is working as a servant to.

Not to stay too long Oden quickly departs with his two followers that he is initially disturbed by as he writes and remarks his journey encountering those who he trusts the most, Izo, Kiku, Kanjuro and Raizo before he has his fated showdown with Shutenmaru in the lawless Land of Kuri, Oden & his Samurai then made the land prosperous and Oden was made Daimyo as the others as his Retainers as Doggy and Kitty wash up on the shoe near Kawamatsu.

Oden saves Doggy, Kitty and Kawamatsu fro racist Wanoers and gives them a home and a hot meal as he learns there stories, but money is tight so this is when the Red Samurai attempt to steal from Yasuie who gives them money, but teaches them that they represent Oden. To get stronger, to clean themselves up and to learn all they can for they are not only the guardians of Oden future Shogun but all of Wano.

Soon after the Whitebeard Pirates wash up on Wano before meeting Oden who wishes to leave with them to see the outside world but Kinemon and Whitebeard refuse, but under the cover of night as Whitebeard and co leave Oden takes a chain and gets it tied to the mast of the Mobbydick to pull him and Izo out to sea, Oden is left out in the water for three days as a test before he can join, but on the last day he lets go after hearing and saving his future wife Toki but Whitebeard lets him join anyway to experience the outside world.

During his travels ODen see many wondrous sites and forms a relationship with Toki, together they have Momonosuke and later Hiyori abourd Whitebeards ship during said time they recruit a boy on an Island named Teach (BLACKBEARD). Back in Wano though a sinister plot is taking shape as Orochi assumes power as Shogun, thanks to the last user of Bon Clay fruit Orochi is able to build power within the noble houeses of Wano despite being from a disgraced house that once tried to take over Wano.

But the fatefull meeting is at hand.

Roger Pirates have meet the Whitebeard Pirates, with Oden being Oden rushing forwards only to be swatted into a gaint rock formation by Roger with ease but before Oden can try again Whitebeard and Roger clash with such a force, not even touching weapons thanks to Haki pushing all those around them away as the two pirate screw battle it out for three days and party on the forth as the youngins of the crews serve as watchout for others we learn here that Blackbeard has never slept a day in his life.

Roger talks about his adventure and what he found with Whitty and Oden, telling them there is more to the world then the Lodestar Island and the secret to the last Island lies in Poneglyphs that while Roger can hear them tell of a Final Island and if he gets there him and his crew will e the greatest that he will be.......... but he needs Odens help.

Whitebeard refuses but all the while Oden is in awe of Roger, getting his blood pumping, his adventure in him screaming out and the feeling he had been missing having found it with Roger asks Whitebeard can he follow Roger, after sometime he agrees and Oden follows Roger on his last journey around the World with only a year left in Rogers life as they leave a message in a golden piece of history on a certain Sky Island.

2019 was a big year for the One Piece anime, not only did it celebrate 20 years and have a hit movie the best Arc Whole Cake Island finished its great adaptation, fans got to relive previous arcs along with moving the story outside of the Strawhats further with the Revivre but Luffy finallyed reached Wano and got clapped.

The Year began with:

Episode 867: Luffy and Katakuri continue to fight but are interupted by the silent intruding Flambe striking Luffy with her dart causing Katakuri to skwer Luffy hard, as outside the Mirror World Big Mom chases Capone ship carrying the cake and Sanji and Co learn the BMP know of there plan

Episode 868: Katakuri learns of Flambe prescene and what she has done and makes amends to Luffy before they have a clash of wills leading to the final bit, outside Sanji and Pudding head to Cacao to save Luffy.

Episode 869: Luffy is able to percive Katakuri blows but to finish this fight he needs Snakeman one hour remains before Luffy needs to meet up with the others on Cacao where Oven forces are gathering with Sanji and Pudding coming up with a way to infiltrate the Island.

Episode 870: Snakeman Luffy VS Katakuri a visual sight to behold as these two push each other to there limits for 20 minutes splice in these episodes are cute bits of Sanji and Pudding making there way and sneaking on to Cacao Island.


Episode 871: Sanji and Pudding reminisces and remember how things began for them at the begining of the arc and the evenets that have happened as Sanji says goodbye but not before Pudding askes for one last request, Luffy and Katakuri have there final interaction as Katakuri falls onto his back as Pekoms and a crying Brulee look on

Episode 872: Luffy and Pekoms emrege from the mirror only to be quickly overwelemed as Sanji grabs Luffy and rushes him to the Sunny, shit family comes in to help with the escape.

873: Shit Family provides cover for the escape for Sanji to reach the Sunny as Brulee announces to her brothers and sisters Katakuri was defeated

874: The Wedding Cake has finally deleivered to Big Mom as others watch with fated breath, Judge tries to do his best I don't care about you but Luffy sees through the act as the Fishmen Pirates arrive to clear the way for the Sunny escape and to see Jinbe off

Episode 875: pretty much an adaptation of 900, Big Mom eats the cake and dreams of her most happiest times, citizens are happy, Pudding isn't :( , Big Mom Pirates push back shit forces and the Sunny looks to be destroyed by Big Moms ship

Episode 876: Surprise the Sunny isn't dead but the Fishman Pirates ship is as the begin to cover the Strawhats aganist Oven's advance. Despite joining Jinbe saskes Luffy to stay behind to protect the Fishman Pirates promising he will be in Wano in time Luffys says Don't Die

Episode 877: Sadness all around as the Luffy and Co depart Whole Cake Island and Mama's territory in solemn sadness, a beatiful operatic piece, Pudding's Last Request crying alone in an ally, Katakuri and Brulee bonding and healing, and all the allies + Shit Family in danger as Big Mom approaches Cacao SOUL POCUS oh and Sanji and Zeff parallels THE BEST EPISODE OF THE YEAR DON'T @ ME



Episode 878 & Episode 879: Sanji and Luffy get new bounties and Luffy is considered a Yonko, various faces around the world react to the new bounty of 1.5 billion Berris along with a reanimation of the first chapter of One Piece

Episode 880: The Revilutionary Commanders make there first Appearance helping to saving a small town from a Pinkbeard a Blackbeard ally as Belo Betty, Morley, Karasu and Lindbergh go off to meet Dragon, Sabo, Koala and Iva to declare War


Episode 881: Revivre is on for the Marines but Sakasuki is mad Fujitora made it to the capital with Ryokugyu as flashbacks to Impel Down and Marineford happen

Episode 882: Fujitora and Ryokugyu talk, not much to talk about

Episode 883: The Ryugu Kingdom arrives and meets king Stelly along with Garp, Shirahoshi sees the surface and that for the first time and Sabo reassures his adopted brother

Episode 884: Neptune and his family sees the top of the World Capital and Shirahoshi meets up with Vivi and Pink Haired Nami #1

Episode 885: Vivi sees Wapol again who has a tense encounter with Dalton and best mom Kureha as Sai meets up with the others and mysterious figure sees a Big Hat

Episode 886: Stelly sees the empty throne and wishes to sit on it, Shirahoshi nearly gets captured and Neptune nearly runs his wifes dreams but thanks to the Noble Otohime saved, Donquixote Mjosgard Shirahoshi is saved and smashes Charlos head

Episode 887: Big Mom and Kaido talk about Luffyr revealing they were a part of the same crew and Kaido owes a massive debt to Big Mom, Garp and other vice admirals talk about Rocks and days of the past, Shanks talks with the Five Elders

Episode 888 & Episode 889: We see the ill fate of Kuma now being reduced to a play thing for the CD's thats gonna be executed, Jewelry sneaks in and Sabo talks to the othe Revs what to do about Kuma, the Revivre fully begins with the meeting of the Kings and Queens and the Five ELders have a meeting with Im as he sits on the Throne

Episode 890: Kitty meets Pineapple head who is now a Doctor on Whitebeards home Island taking care of it since his defeat by Blackbeard, they talk about Wano where Marco says he will not come over the fact Weevil could strike this Island but leaves a message for Luffy

Episode 891: Luffy and the others reach the tulmitious seas outside Wano and Luffy grabs a carp to caryy them up a Waterfall

892: WANO ARC BEGINS NEW ANIMATION, Zoro get captured for supposedly killing and cuts the guy that didwe get to see the rest of the strawhats that went to Wano, Luffy stranded on a beach with Sunny

Episode 893: Zoro gets his sword back and does a dragon twister, Luffy encounters Kaido's men, a baboon and a tiger like creature and meets and saves Tama

Episode 894: Luffy learns about Tamas ability as she tames the Tiger and takes Luffy back to her home, there he eats what little she has as she goes out to drink water from a poisionious lake as Hitetsu arrives and berates Luffy, he learns Ace was in Wano and helped Tama as Basil Hawkins discovers defeated Kaido men

Episode 897: Tama gets sick and Luffy leaves on the Tiger in his new clothes with a new sword in search of a cure/doctor on the way he encouters Zoro saving a woman and meets Hawkins

Episode 898: Luffy and Zoro fight Hawkins and his men but leave with Tiger as Hawkins persues them

Episode 899: Hawkins uses his Strawman form to chase after Luffy and Zoro, Zoro battles with the Strawman and evetually knocks Hawkins away. The saved woman is O-Tsuru and takes Luffy and co to her tea house and meet Kiku

Episode 900: Kiku patches up Zoro as Luffy has a bite to eat, Otsuru heals Tama and has her eat a great meal for the first time in forever but the ppeace is shattered when Kaidos men attack and take Tama to Holdem

Episode 901: Luffy, Zoro and Kiku charge into Bakura Town looking to save Tama as she meets upwith Lion Stomach himself who needs her to tame said stomach, on a mountain top Bepo and crew see Luffy and alert Law trying to stop Luffy from making a rukus.

Episode 902: They reach Bakura town and look for Tama encountering Sumo man and Luffy challenges him after he harasses Kiku

Episode 903: Sumo wrestling and Luffy knocks him into Holdems house and Bepo get sick

Episode 904 & Episode 905: Zoro and kiku take care of the regular Beast Pirates as Luffy takes care of Holdem who has Tama trapped is his Lion stomachs jaws, Holdem think Shutenmaru, Speed arrives who is quickly dealt with by Zoro and Kiku as Luffy finishes Holdem with a red hawk saving Tama

Episode 906: With Tama free she and Luffy jump onto Speed and use her Devil Fruit to tame her and catch up with Zoro and Kiku, Hawkins arrives on the scene but Law intercepts them dealing with him till he is able to group up with Luffy and Zoro being mad at them.

Episode 908: Luffy delivers the clean water and food to the town Otsuru was in, Speed departs to take Tama back to her home and Law takes Luffy to see something that he must see.

Episode 909: Luffy reunites with Kinemon and the others that were with him on the Sunny, Kinemon takes the group inside Odens castle to explain that he, Momonosuke Kiku and the others all come from 20 years in the past and we see Kyoshiro for the first time.

Episode 910: Kinemon talks about the history of Kozuki Oden from his fight with Shutenmaru to bringing order to Kuri to his time with Roger and how other loved and admired him, they talk about Lady Toki and the night Kaido and Orochi attacked and how she sent them into the future and what they say when they arrived

Episode 911: Kinemon goes of the plan to strike at the time of the Fire Festival with the others, Shinobu comes in and Kinemon gives new clothes to others that need to blend in.

Episode 912: Shutenmaru raids Otsurus town but is stopped when Jack enters the scene questioning them, the two have it out with Shutenmau giving Jack a good cut before Kaido comes in


Episode 913: Luffy rushes after Kaido while Law tries to stop him, Kaido is drunk but sees Oden's castle an annihilates it with his dragon breath


Episode 914 & Episode 915: Luffy Clashes with Kaido, bashing him in the head with flurries of elephant gattlings knocking him to the ground, Luffy sees Speed injured and learns that she and Tama were attacked by Kaido and Luffy is more solid in his resolve to take down Kaido now, with Luffy and Kaido clashing on thing is sure Luffy stands no chance, beautiful animation

Okay, it's time to really sit down and hammer out how he handle things going forward.

After thinking it over, I think what makes the most sense for everyone (i.e. the decision that best avoids pissing off people) is to keep all talk of both the spoilers and unofficial chapter releases within spoiler tags.

That way, people who have read the chapter early don't have to hold their tongue until the official release, which can be especially painful/restrictive during break weeks such as this. And then of course, people who have decided to forgo scans don't have to ignore this thread until the official release comes out. So whether it's due to frustration over a lack of a consistent replacement for scans, or because they see this as a prime opportunity to begin only acknowledging the official release, putting the discussion in spoiler tags allows them to feel comfortable with posting here again.

Now, to recap a bit and go over the obvious pros and cons:

Pros:

• People can continue to discuss the chapter freely without worrying about spoiling others until the official release comes out, you just keep it in spoiler tags from now on.

• People that refuse to read scans or don't want to scrounge around looking for a suitable replacement can now safely wait until Sunday and not have to worry about running into any spoilers. They can hopefully feel comfortable in posting in this OT, rather than having to avoid it entirely until Sunday.

• We'd no longer have to worry about an adjustment period in terms of finding a reliable, " permanent" replacement, or hope that people know exactly where to look to find the chapter. Now if you find a translated chapter somewhere, you can immediately bring it up and begin talking about it. (Ideally the first person to talk about the chapter would mention that it's out there, like we normally do)

Cons:

• Both spoilers and scan discussion will all be under spoiler tags. Which would be fine, if not for the fact that people who read spoilers are not necessarily the same people who have no issue reading scans. Therefore, it is entirely possible that someone that has no interest in reading about spoiler pics/summaries may accidentally spoil themselves by clicking a spoiler tag before a scan comes out. The obvious way to prevent this would be to clearly mark your spoilers, but let's be real, everyone is often too lazy to commit to doing this.

• Spoiler tags really suck. It can be real tiresome having to constantly talk about something in tags. Likewise for those only interested in the official release, I know it can be disheartening to look at a page and see it filled with spoiler tags. Not to mention, chances are that those same people will not be interested in going back to click said spoilers to see what has already been discussed, especially if said discussion happens several days before the official release comes out. And naturally people who have already begun discussion will likely not feel inclined to reiterate their exact thoughts on a chapter, as typically no one likes repeating themselves. So the end result might end up fragmenting the discussion somewhat. (But then again, we already are fragmented right now, so meh)

If there any other obvious pros/cons I'm missing, feel free to point them out.


Anyhow, despite the cons, I think this is probably the best way to handle things going forward. We still have plenty of people that have no issue reading (coherently translated) scans, while there are those that are sticking with just the official release from now on. This seems like the best way to please both groups as much as realistically possible. It won't be perfect, but it's clear that a compromise needs to be made.

So that's my proposal, which I see is what we are currently doing right now for this chapter. Thoughts?
