Is the setting something that resonates more with Americans? Are they elfs? Why is it set in current times? I just don't really understand why they thought of it. Definitely original but... I don't get what the main idea behind it is.
Thanks for the explanation, I kinda get it now. I didn't get that accountant joke at all first time I viewed it.They explain the premise at the beginning of the trailer: imagine if mythical creatures and fairy tales had to exist in the modern world. The juxtaposition of a mystical wizard having to work as an accountant is meant to be interesting and humorous.
The Good Dinosaur tho...
The Good Dinosaur was not that bad. Just serviceable in comparison to their other works (excluding the Cars series which is also average).
He'll come back for enough time to whisper...That whole Dad thing is gonna make me cry, isn't it? Like they'll get him back for a few minutes and then have to say goodbye forever.
is it just me or it seems like Chris Pratt is just being Chris Pratt and not really trying to bring anything different with his character. Perhaps a weird complaint but I couldn't stop thinking "yeah that's just Chris Pratt".
well Zootopia was a Disney Animated Studios movie (like Frozen, Ralphs, BH6, Moana), not a Pixar movie. so of course Zootopia has a more Disney vibe ;)That was my take away.
Looks like a fun movie.
Edit: To note, I think it looks like a fun movie, but it doesn't give me that Disney-esque vibe I got from say, Zootopia. Like I think I would eventually wanna watch Onward, but Zootopia (just using as an example of non-humans in modern society) was one I absolutely wanted to see.
I really don't like this trailer, the whole premise is off putting.
This whole thing seems very Dreamsworksy. Maybe they hired Dreamworks staff recently?
Dreamworks has always been a bit Pixar-y, but Pixar has generally told quality stories with tremendous animation along the way.
Woops, I totally missed that this was Pixar, lol (I don't even know how. It's in the thread title even!)well Zootopia was a Disney Animated Studios movie (like Frozen, Ralphs, BH6, Moana), not a Pixar movie. so of course Zootopia has a more Disney vibe ;)
Director and writer of Monsters University. Which was pretty meh. Inventive idea at least, I'll see how it turns out.
What is happening with Pixar's art department tho, man. How did we go from Incredibles, Ratatouille and Wall-E to this.
