Is it kinda too early to post a mourning thread since someone said we would have 623 pokedex after beating the game? (I'm aware that it's rumored at the point but posted by reliable leaker tho? right?)

AFAIK it's confirmed that the dex is 400 Pokémon and there is no extended Dex post game.

Actually no real post game at all it seems.

EDIT: this is getting quoted a lot, so I'll update with what I read, please let me know if it's wrong.

There is just a (1) Battle Facility post game, no extra routes and a couple of hour long quest.

Fine by me. Most of my favourites got cut, but now it's time to try out the new Pokemon and ones I've never used before. This game still has a huge regional dex, so I'm not losing sleep over this at all.

It sucks that there were cuts but I'm not too bothered. Never cared about the national Dex and 400 is way more than I usually catch in one of these games. Plus the new Pokemon designs for this gen are outstanding.

I'm baffled that they cut the old starters. I know they usually wouldn't be included in a new gen, but that's the kind of cut that people will immediately notice so I thought they'd handle things differently here.

What the fuck at not including previous starter lines at the very least? Like, no Squirtle or Totodile, etc? Bizarre. Even weirder when they have Let's Go models for some of them...

Oh well, not picking up either of the games anyway.
