Incredible how much that thing sounds like Trump.

Given the propensity for these AIs to be pieces of shit, one starts to wonder if it might not be a better idea to outlaw their development altogether. Not that it would be in any way feasible.

Deep learning is a subset of Machine learning which is a subset of AI. Recommendation system definitely counts as "AI".
No? Deep Learning/Machine Learning are generally different approaches to solving a given problem, although there's overlap. AI is a subset of both, although some say it doesn't count as AI if it doesn't use neural networks. (some say linear regression is AI, which is flat-out clickbait)

Traditional recommender systems long predate the rise of AI (using collaborative filtering) and definitely don't use neural networks, although some companies try to add ML/DL to make them sound cooler.

No. Machine Learning and Deep learning are subsets of AI.

AI was a term coined in the 50s IIRC.
