Operation Burnt Horizon Announced for R6: Siege. Start of Y4S1. Australian Operators and Map.

Year Four Season One is all set to go, featuring two new operators from the SASR
This includes a new device that’ll keep roaming Defenders on their toes, and one that’ll leave Attackers at a bit of a loss.
A high-stakes chase has ended in a standoff at a service station halfway between here and nowhere, resulting in a map that’s packed with twists, turns, and Australiana.
Full reveal Feb. 17th during the Invitational.

Wow that's an ugly-looking season cover. The operators don't sound too interesting either, so let's see how it goes.

They're both trash but at least old hereford is fun. put it back in the casual rotation
The new one isn't great but I'd take it over the original all day every day. I don't play casual so I don't know how people would feel about that.

Seems like they finally got around how to not make new maps unnecessarily big.
It does seem like they know some of the problems across the DLC maps with that blog post:
-Too big
-Too samey
-Confusing pathways
-Too dark
-Too focused on one color

The problem is, they've seemed like they've learned their lesson before and made back to back great maps with Skyscraper and Coastline, but then went back to making mixed quality maps with some duds like Tower and New Hereford.

I've always wanted a map inside a supermarket or a mall, since those are more likely place of operation for an Anti-Terror unit than a gas station in the outback.

Also because I want shootouts where all kinds of stuff is falling and exploding from the shelves but that may be too much for the engine.

My question is at what point do they stop making operators because just feels like they will run-out of ideas for them.
Their goal is to have 100 operators and support the game for ten years (presumably releasing 8 operators each year).
Since launch, they've introduced the visibility (Valk, Mira, Maestro) and intel (Jackal, Dokkebai, Lion) metas, which were completely absent in the base game. They've also largely changed the hard breaching and trap metas. I think they'll be able to keep coming up with stuff, especially since a large amount of operators are basically echoes of other ones.

It seems like the longer the game is, the more Ubi is running it into the ground. New Hereford isn't as good as the old one, new operators are way too hit or miss in the last season. I felt disappointed getting that Year 3 pass, I'll probably wait a few operations if this year turns out to be good.

As long as they don't fix the Q,E,C Spam and Sound Issues they can shove those new ops and maps up their butts.

Its time for another Operation Health because the game is completely broken.

Shields running and lean spamming at you with 300km/h and instead they nerf Caveira which is completely useless at high level play anyway.
Ignoring completely what the ProPlayers tell them to do for ages and instead add probably more broken stuff like Lion and Nomad.

At least you get soon your Elo back from games lost to cheaters which is basically every second game these days in High Elo.

No wonder all the ProPlayers currently at the Invitational only twitter or talk about Apex and hope they can go soon home to play it again LOL

A part of me thinks everyone assumes Australia is just desert. Now I know It's like 70% Outback, but there's some huge cities. I'd love to see a game actually show off some for once, instead of just the desert.

They already said they were. I wouldn’t be surprise if it’s talked about during the panel this weekend.

We’ll see the Lion change for sure.
They said so??? Thank FUCK
It's more annoying than wall hacks I swear. I have no idea why it dragged on this long, how is this shit tolerable in esports is beyond me.

Here is the reddit post. It’s not that old so we may have to wait a little longer but like I said it’s being adressed. https://www.reddit.com/r/Rainbow6/comments/ajusqs/crouch_and_lean_spamming/

I always want more city maps especially vertical ones.

Heck I've been asking for

(Calypso Casino)
Since day 1
I’m good with just 1 Tower thanks.

Just use that negative as a point of inspiration.
just call it "Vegas" or "Calypso"
Have all the games either destroyed, under tarps or in shipping crates.

Basically design it as if Rainbow 6 Vegas had already happened to it,
particularly have a few walls already breached into the vault, scaffolding and entry points outside and around the bottom floor
have some of the old walls predamaged(from remodeling, gunfire and explosions) for new destructable walls.

Best God damn levels in a tactical shooter ever.

More excited about the possible Lion remake and possible qec changes than new operators tbh. Lion has to be one of the worst ability/equipment designs in any FPS game.
Yeah, neither operator really interests me at the moment so im more excited about the map, potential Hibana Elite, Hibana face rework and new cosmetics.

I hope the new map is good. The last 2: Villa and Fortress are needlessly huge with large sections of both map never really used, making everything else clutter and hard to read. They're not Yacht bad, but they're close.
