I will evangelise the magnificence of Ori and the Blind Forest til my dying breath. Switch owners are in for a treat - and I urge you to buy the soundtrack while you're waiting.
Seemingly, September has only three days: September 3rd, September 20th and September 27th.
Hoping for a physical release. I know the Switch version of Cuphead is supposed to be getting one whenever the DLC is out, so maybe Ori can get one too.

I'm totally late to knowing this was happening, but are both Ori and Cuphead MS-owned ips? Or are they just the publisher?
There are only two versions, the original and the DE. The DE has fast travel and an extra dungeon and an extra power up. It was previously a $5 upgrade if you owned the original already.
I mean between this and RoR 2 I expect a lot of consoles going right into overheat mode :P
It happened with Hollowknight. Mostly joking around, but basically stuff like a bunch of fan art upvoted to the front page and taking "ownership" of the character. I can see similar things happening with Ori.
I used to own a physical copy of the Xbox version and it was also labeled definitive edition. Never got to it but I'm pretty sure they are the same. Probably the usual brings all DLC.

IIRC, it added a couple new modes (one life being one), a lil bit more story and the ability to backtrack to certain places that you couldn't in the original release.
Bruh, this is Nintendo we're talking about. There probably won't be achievements and I'm OK with this.
This will never run in native res and will get a huge graphically drop, but my girlfriend flips out about it because she's a gigantic fan, so we will buy it anyway.

Cuphead is published by Stuido MDHR and I think Minecraft is published by Mojang? Maybe I'm wrong on the second one. Still, this is the first actual first party game to cross over. Still looker gorgeous btw

THQ has only handled retail distribution of Xbox games. If this gets a physical releases, you will likely see their logo.
Definitive release included the following...
- Added difficulty modes - Play through the game on a new easy mode or, if seeking a greater challenge, tackle the new hard and single life difficulty modes.
- New story content - Discover the origins of Ori's adoptive parent Naru.
- New environments - Explore two new areas of Nibel, Black Root Burrows and Lost Grove, each with a new visual presentation and play mechanics.
- Two new abilities - Dash and Light Burst.
- Additional music tracks - New tracks by the original game's composer Gareth Coker.
- Gameplay/technical Improvements - Fast travel, improved backtracking, ability to continue to playing after completing the game and full 21:9 widescreen support for PC.
- New making of video content.
They own the Ori IP. They don't own the Cuphead one though, they just had the publishing rights to the first game.

Cuphead on Switch is getting Xbox Live achievements eventually.
Cuphead's indie, but Ori is 100% Microsoft's IP. They're even publishing it on Switch apparantly.

MS owns the IP's I believe or else you would've seen them released on PSN and E-shop along time ago.
Nonsense, people on this very forum told me the Switch couldn't run it.
