(Donkey Kong Country series in particular has at least two different people who did that meticulous work and it's awesome)
Wait so what does this actually mean? The tracks are being rebuilt or the compositions are going to be notably different?
Either way, hoping for a PC mod I guess.
Awesome, I look forward to checking it out. Thanks! Not sure about ocremix, but it should all be on bandcamp... can't remember the name of one of the artists unfortunately, but I bought another on vinyl, by Sam Miller. Here's his recreation of DKC2, which most people seem to love:

Could be either, "faithful" meaning the original compositions, or "faithful" meaning the general sound of the genesis itself. We'll have to wait and see I suppose.Wait so what does this actually mean? The tracks are being rebuilt or the compositions are going to be notably different?
Expected, ain't even mad
But I did have slight pause at Senoue because I remember his work on sonic 4, but that's not really a fair comparison here.
They can't use a number of tracks, because they were created by Michael Jackson for use in-game. I'm presuming that Jun Senoue will create their own versions of said tracks and include them in-game.

I see you and raise you with:
I always liked how the Wii version of Episode 1 having to use smaller more compressed samples to fit the game's filesize limit on Wiiware actually ended up making that version of the soundtrack sound marginally better.Even then a lot of the Sonic 4 songs are actually well composed, they just use a terrible soundfont. Like hearing this Splash Hill remix by Tee Lopes back in the day was eye-opening, the song actually rocks when it's not being heard through artificial farts:
please no OC Remix lol, ugh, no
