except Titans have like 3 good players and idk what HZ being good has to do with everyone putting Atlanta bottom 5They're unknown, not a pre-made team like Titans nor having the rumors that the spark have.

Atlanta got the 2 best tanks not in OWL, who are most likely going to be a top 5 duo, if not top 3. They also got a top 2 or 3 main support not in OWL and Kodak is fucking insane. He was hard carrying Germany in the world cup. Erster is also insane and apparently Dafran is popping off in scrims. I see 0 reason to think they're gonna be one of the worst expansion teams.

Paris have been garbage in scrims. Like, really garbage.People rank Atlanta low among the expansion teams? I usually see them ranked around ~10(and I think that's underrating them,I honestly think people put them at 10-12 off of trying to balance their lack of exposure with people's positive word of mouth)
The real underrated squad is Paris. Did people not see Kruise's bananas plays against South Korea in the World Cup, or Shadowburn drop his best performances since early OW on half the DPS roster on Team Russia? People are placing them in bottom quartet of teams and I'm left very confused.
I forget where I saw it but it's not surprising given their rough tanks and flex support. It would also line up with then being ranked low by people involved in the league. I've also heard some things from contenders coaches who have scrimmed them.
Support line is the biggest unknown. Again, all speculative.
dafran will play everything for the W
I take it you don't watch a lot of eu contenders
That was over a month ago when the team was in LA for less than a week. Hardly relevant.didn't scrim results leak that showed atlanta were garbage at 3 3

I really feel for Diya, dude has been there day 1 in the endless nightmare that is the Shanghai Dragons and now season 2 is probably going to be just as bad.
Well, not to be a nancy downer, but I'm coming from a number of points. First, I'm a bit ill still on how HOTS collapsed, and after reading tweetlongs from players in the scene, shit got really dark and predatory very fast. And considering Blizzard's current state of insecurity really put a bad damper on really going heads in this hard. I mean, even they delayed the release of the SC2 tourney schedule until like last week, which is something that would have been a done deal before the new year. And also with the massive shift of fps gaming in Korea going to PUBG, I feel the talent may bleed away. And even without the general cuttthroast nature of esports from it's onset. I do feel that OWL really did tap into a new market for esports. But I fear having newcomers being disappointed and cynical if shit hits the fan, which is something I'm cautious about now.

I mean, not to be too negative about this. I'm super glad with the kind of presence and exposure esports and OWL is gaining. But Korea's Broodwar scene took a tumble like the MLB strike of 2014 after just one incident.
You bring up a lot of points that I didn't know about because I am not aware of Blizzard's efforts in esports outside of OWL, so thank you for that.
From what I am sensing though, OWL seems to be their only esports so far that is not seemingly half-assed. And while they can be criticized for their efforts in Tier 2 and game balance in general, I think Blizzard did a good enough job with OWL so far. If I was investing in esports, OWL would be up there for sure.
OWL is pretty much the most 'pro' production I've seen so far, and that includes granddaddy companies like OGN. They are doing an amazing job with OWL and what they're doing is amazing. It's just a thought in the back of my head.
OGN just knew the local crowd better than anyone else. RIP Apex.I feel for OGN, Blizzard killed their Overwatch tournament Apex.
I gotta say, Apex is still ahead of OWL in certain areas like in hyping up matches, graphics in general, and player cam reactions. RIP Apex.

Buttchin-n-Bones is it okay if I include your spreadsheet in the new thread?
Hopefully on Sunday! I had a thread set up but when I came back from the hospital my laptop instead of waking up from sleep, it restarted....
