Awful for PS5, and PS4 too. Last year they sold 40k with a price drop promotion. Switch is also a bit down from last year's weak 51.

Those PS5 numbers are pitiful. I know Sony said they don't have any problems, but numbers say anyone. Wonder why they won't admit it? There has to be some marketing thing around it.

There's still a chance that PS5 exceeds PS4 shipments, but I'm skeptical that will happen. As more data comes out, the Bloomberg article about yields gains more credence.

Please, take into account that biggest week of the year in Spain is not Xmas week, but the one before "Noche de Reyes", on January 6th. This year it will be week 53 or week 1, we will see.

PS5 stock in Spain is lower than PS4 for same period, but I would not say very low compared to Japan.
Looking at how many PS5 were sold in Spain and in Japan until week 51, and the total sales of PS4 in Spain (3.5m) and PS4 consoles sold by Japanese shops (9.3m) we have these ratios:
Spain: 1000 PS4 / 22 PS5 consoles
Japan: 1000 PS4 / 26 PS5 consoles
So, Sony "treated" Japan a bit better, but there is not a big difference.

Logistic issues can be overcome if stock is there, just look at how much Nintendo shipped in the same time frame.

Animal Crossing is the best selling game at retail in France.
First time in 12 years that it is not a GTA/COD/FIFA game on top.
So probably over a million units?
Fifa 20 was at 1.19m in 2019 and Fifa 19 at 1.35m in 2018
Man, if Konami can bring back the nostalgia of Pro 5, 6 in the next game and include a Switch version, they could make a perfect storm this year.

Crazy how PES post PS2 just year on year has gone into irrelevance.
I rememeber when Fifa was just not the game people played. It was regarded as nothing short of a joke.
I remember during peak PES days (must have been PES 6) everyone who said they were playing FIFA was laughed at. Nowadays PES is almost non-existent. :(
Great post. Thanks for crunching the numbers. PS4 still looks to be pushing tons of software. Most of which never shows up on the chart. Hardware situation for PS5 and XSX doesn't look great but will wait for official WW shipment numbers.

There's something weird with the FIFA and Animal Crossing figures. Rubén mentions AC is almost at 350.00 units, a strange choice of words for 342.000. He said he will post the 2020 top 10 soon so we will know which one is the best selling single SKU of the year from his numbers. Will be a real photo-finish!

PS5 sold half of PS4 units on the same launch period in Spain. They did 150k until December 25th 2013. This last december, PS5 stock has been lackluster in many territories.
I would like to see that Sony would include in the Q3 report where they are delivering the stock like Nintendo do.

I know Sony doesn't want to accept a production problem, but the numbers are clear. If it's not a production problem, is it a transportation problem or going to the extreme a demand problem? I know the it is not the latter, but somewhere there's a problem.

MS shipping more units than Sony in Spain for two consecutive weeks? This is something that I never expected to see like ever
It should be noted that unless XBS sold 0, Week 2 is missing from this LTD. Week 2 was when PS5 launched and only PS5 and Switch were shared from what I saw.
I understood that when Rubén was sharing info about PS5 and XBS launch sales (both HW and SW) he added numbers from weeks 46 and 47.
However, he is going to publish his final estimates very soon.
We are going to know what is going on in 3 weeks time, but what ever it is, does not look good. Either they lied to their investors or they have a huge restock happening in Jan.
Yeah, and when yesterdays Jim Ryan didn't say anything other than what was known, they haven't said any software updates as well.
That part is normal, they are very weird at revealing information even when they break records, the hardware part is the concern one, normaly, they reveal their ps4 sales numbers and we are expecting the ps5.
It is true they are shiping to more countrys but even then, the number is very low.
Imagine if EA actually put more effort into their Switch ports, that FIFA 21 PS4 could have been Switch as well.
Probably, it is the first PS5 game in the Italian Top 10 since week 47 (PS5 launch)
