Another quiet week in terms of new releases and Ubisoft remain unchallenged with a third consecutive week at No1 for 'Far Cry 5'.

In terms of recent Ubisoft games with more than 2 weeks at No1, Ubisoft's 'Ghost Recon: Wildlands' from 2017 managed 4 weeks at No1 (2 weeks consecutive), whilst 2016's 'The Division' racked up 4 consecutive weeks at No1. EA remain at No2 for a third week in a row with 'FIFA 18' and Nintendo climb 4 places to No3 with 'Mario Kart 8 Deluxe'. Rockstar/Take 2 also climb 4 places at No4 with 'GTA V' and Microsoft's 'PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' remains at No5 for a third consecutive week. Microsoft's 'Sea of Thieves' drops 3 places to No6 and Bethesda re-enter the Top 10 thanks to promotional activity around the wallet-friendly 'Fallout 4'.

Pretty good rise on GTA and Mario Kart, so the evergreens are doing well.

Crossposting from the previous thread :

The interesting tidbit from GamesIndustry.biz is that PS4 software sales are only 7.8% down year-to-date, which paint a solid picture considering last year Q1 had Horizon Zero Dawn, For Honor, Ghost Recon Wildlands and also more contributions from a bigger number of console exclusives such as Gravity Rush 2, Nioh and NieR Automata (versus Shadow of the Colossus and Ni no Kuni II this year).

God of War release is most likely going to turn around that year to year drop.

Insane that it's possible PS4 could be o par with last years 20 million sales in year 5...it's still 299.

Kinda shock that Kirby did worse than NNK2 in Germany. No offense to either game it just the trends of Kirby and it's performance in Germany is shocking lol

Strange that Sea of Thieves seems be absent from Germany chart as well, just like french chart. Game is doing great in UK though. I expect that it'll remain in UK charts for a while.

Great?? Position in the chart really means little, it's the numbers, and it certainly never did great numbers..at all.

Bruno MB Where do you see the March chart for Germany because it's not at the link you have provided and I have checked game.de myself and they haven't released it yet.

EDIT: Never mind found it. It was on BILD.de

Did we get % drops/gains or top ten breakdown of SKU shares to be able to work out numbers?

GTA5 back in the top 5. WTF? It's went so far past taking the piss now.

God of War should kill it in this dry spell. Going with around 200k.

Point still stands in it's 3rd week in MS second strongest market it's doing sub 10,000 .this is not great legs by any definition
There's still gamepass and digital to consider but I'm expecting to weaken after the critical reception. I hope they can inject a major content soon especially if they're gunning for GaaS

So it did great in UK? I never said it wasn;t a hit for MS, so not even sure what you are talking about. All I said was in UK, and the numbers we have are far from "Great".

What numbers? a slice of retail numbers from a shrinking buying segment isnt an indication of health, you cant sum up a GAAS game performance based on unit sales, so its most likely great despite the chart position, as MS have already stated.

I am talking just UK, as this is a thread about UK sales, everything else you are talking about has no bearing, it has not done "Great" in the Uk at all. Retail is still a big slice of the pie, and every other game in this chart has digital, and have all gen. Of course MS is going to try to put out good PR...

Isn't the digital/physical ratio in the UK at 40-50% and even bigger for multiplayer only titles like Sea of Thieves? I thought it was confirmed last year iirc.

Your idea of success is out of date, everything i mentioned is relevant to UK performance.

Evidence please, as whole. Unless you can provide that , you have no idea. And these charts do no feature digital sales.

This is a slow period of the year. It doesn't take much to make 10 top but a lot of the games in there have been consistent sellers in slow and busy periods. If Sea of Thieves holds in the same range as these games over the next few weeks then perhaps when the market returns to busier sales its legs help it move some more units.

So far I would say the legs are alright but the launch numbers were not particularly good. With gamepass and missing digital the penetration on this title will be difficult to rank. Would have to hope that its revenue generation is high and the player engagement is good.

The new content pattern for the game seems meh as far as I can tell.

SoT is now the UK One S bundle, it replaced FH3.

It's pretty easy to judge weekly One S hardware sales during these quiet times by the way FH3 dropped from a regular top 10 slot to the foot of the top 40. It's difficult to judge PS4 hardware sales as the predominant bundle is FIFA.

What's a good GOW prediction ? 200k?
Really depends on digital share and how it's increased since U4 days.

I expect this is one of those titles Sony will announce WW sales after a week or two.

It is not easy at all.
The fully year chart for 2017 already revealed that people heavily overestimated the FH3 bundles sold compared to others.
Sea of Thieves is a very low volume bundle in the UK and everywhere else.

There're still plenty FH3 bundles. RL is huge, Minecraft is still a thing and AC: Origins as well as Shadow of War.
PUBG is one of the higher volume bundles in the UK, right now.
