"World War Z" the co-op shooter based on the book and film of the same name begins life at the top of the All Formats Chart.

"Tom Clancy's The Division 2" falls from No1 to No3, while "FIFA 19" enjoys a strong Easter, holding on to No2, buoyed by a price drop. "Snooker 19: The Official Video Game" enters the chart at No9, while renewed sales of the PC version push "Anthem" back in to the Top 40 at No15. The release of the Switch version of "Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster" marks a re-entry for the title at No20 with the only other new game to break in to the Top 40 being "My Time at Portia" at No27.

If a game with literally 0 advertisement like World War Z (it was a stealth release and no reviews on media) can debut in the UK selling 10.000 units, there is no way Days Gone will not have a big launch. But how big? It is hard to tell.

Regarding Mortal Kombat 11 it is a franchise with great sales perfomance in the UK, the previous entry sold around 70,000 units in its first week.

I find it hard to believe that MK11 would be outsold by Days Gone initially. If we assume a flat hold for Mortal Kombat as a franchise at 70,000, what other Sony exclusives have beaten that and by how much?

france tho.

mortal komabt has more days to sell, and is on more platforms. i think it'll take the top spot but the difference between #1 and #2 will be quite small.

Feel like Mortal Kombat should win that contest pretty easily. Like, I'm very surprised the question was even brought up or that the poll is 50/50
Multiplatform, a massively popular franchise and the promotion/hype is so far and above what we've seen for Days Gone.
The Switch physical version being delayed in Europe hurts sales a bit. Not that I saw that version doing particularly well in that region but lost sales are lost sales at the end of the day.

Are we expecting Days Gone to be a monster success? I felt like people have been like of lukewarm on it.

Think Days Gone and MK will be close, but going MK, MK has been massive for awhile now.
Sony marketing + really good-great reviews might tip it for Days Gone though, but again going with MK just based on it's history.

Keep in mind that the Switch physical version of MK11 doesn't release in the UK until May 10th (which sucks).

54%-46% for Days Gone right now.
I go with MK for the first week, while DG > MK one week later.

I think MK11 ends up at #1 because of it being on PS4/Xbox1 and more days to track during the week. Days Gone should have a solid performance though and has a chance to sell more on PS4 then Mortal Kombat 11.

DG is friday too, right? it'll probably manage 70-80K, while i can see mortal kombat doing quite a bit better than the 70K of the previous entry.

i voted MK it is just the bigger franchise and it is always hype as fuck, now if DG didnt lack coop or some sort of MP i might have gone with them instead since people like zombie coop like is crack

MK11 releases earlier and on more platforms than Days Gone. So it should sell more.

Mortal Kombat is on more systems and comes out today. Days Gone comes out Friday so you're comparing nearly a week of tracking versus a weekend (two days?). Also, the last Mortal Kombat game sold 11 million copies so...

Like, I'm very surprised the question was even brought up

My thoughts exactly.

Considering most third-party sequels seem to be struggling a bit of late I'm going to say MK11 opens down on MKX (say 60k debut) and Days Gone manages to outsell it by a few thousand. But when you factor in digital MK would be far ahead due to PC sales.

Edit - these results include digital sales now so forget what I said. MK will probably be #1 next week.

I think it's possible Days Gone takes the #1 spot. And if not it'll be a really close contest. We've been following the momentum in other DG threads but as a UK era member I think that the possibility is down to an outside factor.

The collapse of The Fighting Game community on XBOX here in the UK. I've been to UK tournaments both local and sponsored and was in the market for a new headset and fightstick. Long story short, a lot of Peripherals no longer cater to the XB market. Obviously there are ways around that with adapters and such, and obviously there is still some support but the difference between the 360 gen and current gen is stark.

How this translates is that on Amazon's chart (which is indicative of UK gaming trends) XB version of MK wasn't even in the top 100 until fairly recently. And so it's possible Day's gone can outsell MK "in the UK."

Also MK hasn't been ahead of Days Gone even today on MK11's release?

I'm not saying it's a guarantee, just that it's possible and reasoning why.

Horizon and Detroit are the only 2 of those that are new IP's and there is a huge chasm in performance there.
I think it's hard to tell. I might be coming at it with too much of a US mind set, where the results between these 2 will be a blowout for MK as it's extremely popular here

I think Days Gone reviews will decide the winner. A +80 Metacritic could give it a little boost.

Why does it says Mad Dog as publisher for World War Z. Thought Focus Home published. It was even part of their big show last week.

In the UK and don't see any of my gaming friends posting about Days Gone but do MK though I think Days Gone will get the Individual chart but MK will get the combined. Also I'll expect a lot more digital purchases for MK as days gone seems a game people will buy, beat and then trade back in.

Days Gone has outperformed Mortal Kombat 11 by more than 50%.

Days Gone 70.000, Mortal Kombat 11 around 40.000.

Sony's first party streak in UK continues, excellent figures.

PS4 version of GTA V closing in to 1 million in Spain (with digital should be easily above that already though). I wonder how many single platform million sellers there have been in Spain (?).
