One doesn't sell 3.1M in 3 days without being on fire worldwide. Gonna be a big game, 10M+ seems very likely.God of War is on FIRE across the globe.
Seems like Sony will be swimming in money with this one.
.For the fourth consecutive week in a row, God of War is No.1 (despite a 30% dip in sales week-on-week).
It means that the game has surpassed The Last of Us: Remastered as the Sony-published PS4 game with the most consecutive No.1s. It's quite a specific feat, admittedly, and it's not exactly faced any real competition. But the game has been quite a sizeable hit for Sony, and it's comfortably the second biggest new game released this year behind Far Cry 5.
All of this is for physical game sales only.

What's worth calling out is the No.2 game of the week: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. It's the second week in a row it holds this position after suffering a slight 32% drop in sales - that's a good result for a game in its second week, and especially for a port of a title first released back in February 2014 on Wii U.
Tropical Freeze has already sold more copies than both Nintendo Labo products combined. Nintendo will be hoping Labo can find itself an audience over time, but it's not started too well. The Variety Pack has dropped to No.27 in the charts, with the Robot pack completely absent from the Top 40 (it's at No.14 in the Switch-only charts).
I'm hoping the success of these ports makes it more likely Xenoblade X comes to the Switch (as I sold my Wii U before that came out).DKTF showing some nice legs on the UK chart. I didn't buy the game but this just reinforces the fact that there is an audience for wii u ports on Switch.
It went from what? 13? 14?% of wii u sales to 25% of wii u versions sales in 2 weeks.

Isn't it technically 50% of Wii U sales as it's 25% of all sales between Switch + Wii U?
This means that WiiU sold 3x what Switch sold currently (75% for WiiU, 25% for Switch). So, Switch sold 1/3 of WiiU lifetime, or about 33%.Gamesindustry.biz said:Despite only being on shelves for two weeks, the Switch version accounts for a quarter of all copies sold so far in the UK.
There are ten platform exclusive games in the Top 20, which just goes to show that multi-platform isn't the only way to go.

Clearly. Remember the PR? 3.1M in 3 days, and then in every region for which we got numbers, the drop was in the 30%. It's very likely well past 5M at this stage.

"Hi, yes, get Cory on the phone for God of War 2, 3, 4 and 5."

He already has them planned, but doesn't want to direct the next one.
It will be old news by then. No way it takes off 6 months down the line. Switch / Labo Christmas bundle incoming?Nintendo better hope retailers even keep the shelf space for Labo during the holiday season if it keeps dropping
