'Vampyr' sinks its teeth in to top spot of the All Formats Chart giving French publisher Focus Home Interactive their first ever All Formats No1.

It is also the third new original IP to top the chart so far this year, after 'Detroit: Become Human' two weeks ago and 'Sea of Thieves' back in week 12. 'FIFA 18' only just misses out on another week at No1, slipping one place to No2 ahead of 'God of War' which climbs one place to No3, boosted by Sony's "Days of Play" promotion. Other titles benefiting from retailers matching "Days of Play" discounts include 'Gran Turismo: Sport' at No17 and 'Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete Edition' at No25. 'The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset' enters the chart for the first time at No26 thanks to XB1 and PS4 launches with the PC version having come out 2 weeks ago. There are debuts at No34 for 'Onrush' from Codemasters and at No40 for 'MotoGP 18' from Milestone.

Onrush at #34. Wow,

I am really happy for Focus Home. They deserve it as publisher.

OnRush, with its pedigree, but without the first party push, was gonna see this kind of performance unfortunately.

Go GOW and Detroit. Amazing legs
Isn't this only the second week for Detroit? And we know the first week results weren't great in the UK. I think we need to wait a bit to see if it has any legs at all in the UK

EDIT

Didn't realize this was the third week. So yes, legs have started out good. Will be interesting if it can outpace the other QD games with its legs. We know Detroit opened with a fraction of Heavy Rain's sales.

3rd week. Exceptional performance, great word of mouth. Fastest selling QD game worldwide. We don't have to wait for anything :)

Onrush numbers, sadly, was kind of expected.

Go and look at the highest viewed Onrush trailers on YouTube.

The number of likes for those trailers are in the hundreds range.

HUNDREDS.

Having finished Detroit, I think I enjoyed it even more than GOW! :O

Two really great games in what has been an otherwise shit year (besides Monster Hunter). Detroit gonna end up 3+ million and GOW looks set to beat the 7.5 million Horizon managed first year. It is honestly incredible what SSM managed with the franchise, completely smashed it out of the park commercially and critically.

That racing genre though. :(

Worldwide, I know. But we're talking UK numbers here! Maybe I wasn't clear enough. I'll edit my post.

Yes it has legs in the UK. Being a Sony game doesn't change it's status as a steady performing title in the UK through it's first 3 weeks.

Then again every game is touted as having legs nowadays. It's meme status at this point.

It did not outsell Heavy rain fist week, but that does not mean it sold poorly. Times have changed, and it had 20k+ without digital first week which is solid one for this kind of game at $60 but not like you assume its sold really bad.

Yeah, its sad. Seems like Racing games are no longer popular enough to get decent sales anymore (Sony was smart enough to sell Evo). Don't know what Rushy team will do after this game poor sales.

Everyone told NuEvo that Onrush wasn't going to work without a race mode. Even in Overwatch someone needs to win.

Hopefully a relaunch with a race mode further down the line can do wonders.

I don't believe the racing genre is dead. I do believe however, that moving away from spilt screen has hurt the genre more than alot of developers realise. Online racing just isn't as much fun.

Good legs, GoW and Detroit.
Can't wait for the holiday season to see Labo in the first place.

Forza Horizon 4 is coming in 3 months.
Well Forza is utilizing yearly improvements and changing setting like Assassins. Lets see what that game will do (even though last game sold well, but was heavily bundled). Mostly it will do fine as there is no other exclusive from MS this holiday (mostly every holiday this gen and it is the only franchise with higher meta which helps, and MS will again bundle this a lot to market).

The actual sales figures aren't too big for Vampyr but it is without a doubt a great launch for a European rpg from a modest publisher. As always this is just basically retail console sales, the developers have to be happy with the results.

Codemasters can't catch a break this gen, Onrush did it terrible. It couldn't even match MotorStorm: Apocalypse, which didn't exactly set the charts on fire.

Detroit is trailing way higher than Beyond in the UK. It will fall short of Heavy Rain but after a few discounts will probably get closer. Combined with digital it will end up doing quite okay even in the UK. Quantic Dream's strong markets are clearly elsewhere though.

Interesting that the 3rd Switch game in France for this week is FIFA 18.

It might be able to reach their 2018 forecast of ~150k physical units sold LTD.

Great to see GoW back at the top despite newer releases than it and FIFA creeping back up. Of course Sony played a blinder with a little price drop to renew interest for DoP. And great for Detroit's continued and deserved success

The market has spoken and rejected Onrush. Whether it was its gameplay, pricing, marketing or a bit of everything. And Sushi Striker bombs thanks to its horrible pricing.

That's depressing. Hopefully the devs and Codemasters land on their feet. Perhaps they can turn this into a Rocket League eventually with post launch support.

Do you know how Vampyr did in relation to Detroit's first week. Better/worse?
