I don't remember having posted here these Spanish Q1-2018 hardware sales data, things have probably changed notably since then but I think you might find them interesting.

Hardware:

Week 13, 2018

YTD vs Last YTD

PlayStation 4 (-12% YoY)
Nintendo Switch (-20% YoY)
Xbox One (+18% YoY)
Interesting, Bruno do you mean fiscal quarter or calendar quarter?

Thanks Bruno. Do you recall if Sony did a special promotion during the Switch launch week in Spain? In Italy they cut the price to 199.

Yes, they also had special price promotions in Spain during Nintendo Switch launch.

Seems like XBX and their promotions kept XB YoY Up, Sony have to do promotions or some price cuts to improve even though its small drop, and Switch will be down mostly till Holidays I guess.

EDIT: is this includes God of war month ? or only up to March ?

This is up to week 13, 2018.

That week was released Far Cry 5 and PlayStation 4 was +28%, while Nintendo Switch -30% compared to week 13, 2017.

Bruno, do you have lifetime hardware sales numbers for consoles in Spain? Thanks :)

PlayStation 4 is notably above 2 million units, Xbox One around 300,000 and Nintendo Switch slightly ahead of Xbox One.

We will have the actual sales data when AEVI publishes the 2017 yearly report.

Wow, Xbox seems unstoppable this year!
They had the largest growth in May in the US as well, in addition to having their best May ever in absolute numbers!

While I know Sony stated that one of their goals was to have GoW really break out in Europe, I don't think they could've imagined that it'd turn out as well as this.

Yup

here is what they said in 2017 about god of war and europe and it's safe to say they accomplished their goal

The God of War reboot from Sony's Santa Monica studio will be central to this – its new, more narrative-focused, open-world approach with a grizzled, bearded Kratos coming as a direct result of Sony's new global thinking. While always popular in North America, past games in the series just didn't do it for players elsewhere. "It's a franchise that has historically acutely underperformed in Europe," Ryan says. "Hack and slash games tend to not do so well in Europe, so the narrative this time around will make a big difference. European gamers love narrative games. And Singstar."

okay, I know they state that the new God of War is made to appeal to more worldwide audience. but does Sony Europe really have a say about what the new GoW will be where Sony Santa Monico studio is the one who made the game. does Cory Barlog have a talk with Jim Ryan before he made his GoW pitch to Shuhei Yoshida?

If you want to compare, the top 10 in may for USA, Germany, UK, Spain and Japan. I would have liked to add France, but they don't make monthly rankings (or i can't find it).

Physical only except for USA, all versions for USA, Germany and UK.

Is there a monthly chart for Japan? I'm surprised BotW is there and Detroit isn't given the numbers we have
