You are reading too much into these estimates, evidently they are not extremely accurate but I made sure to have them as accurate as possible and are very useful to have an idea on how a game did. Quantum Break sold a few thousand units less than 28.000 but anyway, not much difference in the grand scheme of things.

I predict for Spain 10.000 units for Astral Chain and 3.000 - 4.000 for Control (at most).

From the QB thread:

Bruno MB said:
Well it could technically be above 27,580, 27,752 or 28,010 because we can't be that accurate when working with rounded percentages, but yes in that ballpark.

My calculations are based on monthly charts with actual sales figures, Chart Track weekly percentage changes and The Guardian platform splits.
Source

Fake edit: From Bruno's post above, using the 25k-28k range, we get an estimate of 10,325 to 11,564 for Control. An estimate of 10k-12k for Control seems like a good guess, then. That puts AC between 11,500 and 13,500.

Bruno MB I agree, AC could very well do 10k in Spain: Octopath did more in Spain, XBC2 did similar numbers as well, and FETH did almost the same iirc. 10k should be doable.

Comment from Zhuge:
Bayonetta 2 (Switch) < Astral Chain < Bayonetta 2 (Wii U)
He also said when Bayo 2 Switch launched that Bayo Switch and WiiU were close, so Astral Chain should be very close to Bayo 2 WiiU launch. If the upper margin of error for Bayo 2 was 13k, then that rhymes quite well with the 11.5k-13.5k margin I deduced 2 posts up.

Spain FW ~ UK FW for several Switch games this Summer so I wouldnt be surprised if it is the case for AC.

I'm sure its a quiet summer week but wow at Astral Chain getting #1. Control deserves a lot more sales imo.

I don't know if this happened in other languages, but spanish voices in Control have received a lot of well deserverd criticism. If this affects sales, I expect something in the range of what Rage 2 or Plague Tale Innocence did (1500 - 2000)
By the way, Man of Medan did a better job.

Astral chain doesn't feel like it's going to bomb but it's not going to be a breakout success either. Hopefully it has decent legs.

Man I do hope Astral Chain sells more than Bayonetta 2's paltry 300-400k number.
My guess is you're extrapolating from Astral Chain < Bayo 2 in the UK, correct? A comparable extrapolation would put Astral Chain over Nier Automata, so a direct extrapolation is not too revealing. The game should easily do 1M, this isn't the WiiU. I wouldn't worry about it.

Yeah but I'm also extrapolating from Bayo 2 Switch doing 400k. Astral Chain doesn't have the fetish character designs like Nier, nor the story WoM that could give it a second life. Still hoping for 1M too.

I keep seeing people quote that 400k number... remember, that was purely the sales after the first nine weeks on the switch. Based on how long bayo 1 charted on the eshop (very long), it's sales certainly didn't stop there, and In japan, 75% of its sales came outside of launch week. Switch titles generally have legs as well. For all we know it could be nearly double that number.

Also, bayo 2 launched with just above 7k in the uk, astral chain has had a noticeably better start, closer to games like octopath and Xenoblade 2 Which both broke (will break?) 1.5 million worldwide.

Ultimately, though, uk charts are not really a great indicator of anything much at all

I predict for Spain 10.000 units for Astral Chain and 3.000 - 4.000 for Control (at most).

Oops, I was very optimistic regarding Control, it didn't even sell 1.000 units on PS4, total flop. Quantum Break sold 3.500 units on Xbox One.

Astral Chain has sold 13.000 units.

This info is taken from Vandal radio podcast, more data when Vandal web publishes weekly article.

13.000 for Astral Chain in Spain is a great result. For comparison Devil May Cry V opened with 8.900 (PS4 + Xbox One combined).

EDIT: Nier Automata (PS4) had a debut of 3.700 copies.

Control Spanish dub is a disaster.
Other info from podcast:
Man of Medan - 4000 units
Collection of Mana - 1600 units

Original plan of Nintendo was to ship 10k-15k units of Switch Lite. Now they increased 2.5x-3x that number because pre-orders are very high.

I don't think a good dub would have made much of a difference when you bomb so hard (there is always the option to play in English), the game was met with total indifference and I don't feel 505 Games even bothered to properly advertise it. They accepted defeat from first moment.

Also, seeing other markets (UK, Australia, New Zealand, Swtizerland) it being outsold by Wreckfest I doubt was the expected...

It will basically be a second launch for the Switch.

Switch launch : 45.000 units sold

I have high expectations for the Lite in Spain given its price point and the differenc in audience between the Switch and the 3DS (that was very strong in Spain) currently.

When Collection of Mana sells more copies than a game like Control then you know it's not a great debut.

Cant speak to others but for me I'm done with remedy. They have a formula and I do not like it. I didn't even like the Wake games. I honestly wonder about the future of the company, and would suggest buyer beware to Sony, but maybe I'm crazy.

I kind of figured Control would bomb (although that's yet to be totally seen pending US performance). It just had that smell to me, although I'm not always right about that. I also thought Spider Man PS4 would bomb, heh.

Less than 1000 units probably means we are not going to see Control in the Top 10 when it is published in the Vandal web.
Astral Chain debut 30% higher than Bayonetta 2 (week 7, 2018). Launch faced stock issues plus distribution problems, some shops received the game only this Monday.

Spain Nintendo fans have good taste, AC 13k with stock issue is pretty solid. A bit sad about Control, the game deserves more.

The early figures for the Lite are impressive too.

whoa! that's huge for astral chain then.

edit: the fact that collection of mana was localized and is now having some success is very surprising still.

So between Spain, Japan and UK alone, Astral Chain is hovering a bit below 60k. I'm guessing with digital that's probably a good way above 100k.

That sounds like a good start overall.

That's a very low number for Control.. Remedy cant seem to catch a break :/

That's a pretty big number in Spain for Astral Chain.. of the three countries we know including digital it could very well be at 100k sales between them. That's a great start for it.

What was the numbers they shipped to France for Astral? Was it 20K for the regular version and some additional LE?
