I'll go with 300K-400K for Red Dead. Not really sure what to expect besides it out doing Black Ops 4.

45% drop for Super Mario Party. Really soft drop, the game should have a great quarter with legs and a second launch with the attractive Joycon bundle in November.

Regarding the other games, I said in the previous thread that Q4 is going to be a bloodbath this year :

I am expecting a lot of multiplatform franchises to be down and it is pretty normal. Publishers will need to be very aggressive to stay in the spotlight. It could be via price promotion, aggressive marketing or thanks to an incredible reception (93+).

FIFA, Assassin's Creed and CoD are only the beginning : Battlefield, Fallout are next. Being in November they'll face a tougher competition with all the already released Q4 games that could be cheaper by then.

Spyro and RDR2 could escape that, thanks to a different target audience for the first one and the big return of Rockstar for the second (even tough we should define expectations beforehand, it won't be GTAV imo).

Really looking forward to RDR2 next week to know if sales have been centralized into the game or if it is also impacted by this insane release schedule.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has debuted in the UK selling approximately 260,000 units, that's a really pathetic figure.

The last quarter of the year couldn't have started any worse for the retail market, let's see how Read Dead Redemption 2 will perform.

For comparison's sake, Call of Duty: WW2 sold 515,000 units, while Call of Duty: Black Ops III 635,000 units.

The franchise reached its peak at retail with Call of Duty: Black Ops, which shifted 1.8 million units in its first week.

Here the (almost) complete launch retail sales data of this series in the UK.

[Week 45, 2007] CALL OF DUTY 4: MODERN WARFARE (ACTIVISION) < 215,000 / NEW
[Week 46, 2008] CALL OF DUTY: WORLD AT WAR (ACTIVISION BLIZZARD) - 430,000 / NEW
[Week 46, 2009] CALL OF DUTY: MODERN WARFARE 2 (ACTIVISION BLIZZARD) - 1,600,000 / NEW
[Week 45, 2010] CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS (ACTIVISION BLIZZARD) - 1,800,000 / NEW
[Week 45, 2011] CALL OF DUTY: MODERN WARFARE 3 (ACTIVISION BLIZZARD) - 1,773,000 / NEW
[Week 46, 2012] CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS II (ACTIVISION BLIZZARD) - 1,386,000 / NEW
[Week 45, 2013] CALL OF DUTY: GHOSTS (ACTIVISION BLIZZARD) - 690,000 / NEW
[Week 45, 2014] CALL OF DUTY: ADVANCED WARFARE (ACTIVISION BLIZZARD) - 730,000 / NEW
[Week 45, 2015] CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS III (ACTIVISION BLIZZARD) - 635,000 / NEW
[Week 44, 2016] CALL OF DUTY: INFINITE WARFARE (ACTIVISION BLIZZARD) - 328,000 / NEW
[Week 44, 2017] CALL OF DUTY: WWII (ACTIVISION BLIZZARD) - 515,000 / NEW
[Week 41, 2018] CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS 4 (ACTIVISION BLIZZARD) - 260,000 / NEW

I am still not happy with the options I set in the poll regarding Red Dead Redemption 2, but at the same time I prefer to be conservative after seeing that even a behemoth like FIFA 19 barely sold 600,000 units.

Let's hope for the sake of UK retailers that it is going to have an explosive launch otherwise things are going to look very rough.

I'd be really interested to know what Spider-Man sold world wide in the first month. We only know of that 3.3 million after the first three days.

Where are the percentage drops?
Is the uk industry shrinking? Everything is down there despite being up in other places eg destiny 2 sold better than part 1 (or had a stronger launch) but was massively down in physical and what seemed to me to be too much for physical to compensate

That poll about RDR is a hard call.

As for the Top...it was kinda predictable. Wonder if this gonna hold for the next weeks. Mario Kart still holding it self, thats something.

The retail sales aren't too surprising given that the game is effectively online-only. That's going to make a digital purchase that much more desirable.

Good hold for Forza.

So is Spiderman bundled with a PS4 as well?

Assassin's Creed Odyssey drops 54% week-on-week and falls to No.3, whereas Forza Horizon 4 drops from No.3 to No.5 with a 67% sales drop week-on-week.

Pretty fine hold for both since FH4 release at Tuesday and AC Odyssey release at Friday.

Btw.
58% of sales were on PS4, with 41% coming on Xbox One. The remainder was for the PC SKU.
What's the sales split of WW2?

Obviously the rise of digital was always going to impact physical sales, but I wonder how much of the drop in the latter is due to rising prices? Aside from GAME's usual shenanigans, I remember there were deals to be had for new releases at the start of this gen. Now sites like HotUKDeals tout a new AAA release at being £50 as a deal. It's simply too damn expensive. I for one am now much more inclined to wait for the inevitable price drops.

So Call of Duty is in free fall (digital growth is not going to offset a 50% retail drop)?

Good.

Think of the money and time they saved by not making a SP mode.

Good.

Making the CoD engine handle gigantic Battle royale map with 100 players + loot + zombie npcs on it while also more or less maintaining 60 fps on base consoles... are you implying that was cheap? Its probably where all the SP money went.

Well unlike the yearly FIFA update RDR 2 is a completely new game so I suppose that could work in it's favour.

Spidey did ~190k first week. I wouldn't expect any less from RDR2.

Voted between 200 and 300k.

You went straight to my post history after reading my post? Says a lot about you. Just sayin'.

Did I do something wrong? I merely suspected that you were prone to hyperbole so I found it kinda rich that you called out hyperbole so I did a rather innocuous thing to confirm my suspicions and saw that I was correct.

I can't believe that some people voted for <150k. We're talking about a Rockstar game here.

"Insane" indeed.
