Activision Blizzard's 'Call of Duty: WWII' retains the No1 spot for a third week since launch, narrowly holding off EA's 'Star Wars Battlefront II' which launched on Tuesday and Friday this week for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

EA drop one place to No3 with 'FIFA 18'. Nintendo debut in similar positions to last year's Pokemon Sun/Moon with 'Pokemon Ultra Sun' debuting at No4 and 'Pokemon Ultra Moon' at No5. Other new entries this week include EA's PS4/Xbox One 'The Sims 4' at No7, Rockstar/Take 2's PS4, Xbox One and Switch 'L.A. Noire Remastered' at No8 and Warner's PS4, Xbox One 'Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2' in at No10.

Bethesda's PS4 'The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR' debuts at No19 as the most successful 3rd party week 1 launch for a VR-required title on PS4 (Sony's 2016 launch title 'Playstation VR Worlds' is No1 and 2017's 'Farpoint' is No2). On other PS VR related news, Sony's 'Playstation VR Worlds' shoots back in to the charts at No21on the back of massive promotional activity, centrered around the PS VR headset. Bethesda's Switch version of 'The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim' is the last of the new releases within the Top 40, debuting at No26.

Despite all the negative press it seems SW Battlefront 2 still sold well. LA Noire getting in to the top 10 is nice too.

Look at all those new old games on UK chart this week!

Sounds like Star Wars BF II was off more than 60% vs the first game for physical sales. I wonder what it would be *exactly* if digital was included, but I have a feeling it would still be down because the launch woes seem to have impacted it at least short term.

Skyrim Switch's position in the charts is disappointing.

It was one of the older games that I thought could stand a chance to do well in a platform whose userbase presumably had limited exposure to the franchise, but surely have heard of it through mainstream brand osmosis.

While we don't know the digitals, there's no way that Disney isn't pissed about what's going on here. This is all on one extraordinarily dumb decision by EA.

So apparently L.A. Noire on Nintendo Switch was the game out of the 3 recent western third party ports to perform relatively better even if by units is the worst, who would have though that?

Even though i hated the crash remake its success hopefully means more remakes are coming and that's great

"Bethesda's PS4 'The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR' debuts at No19 as the most successful 3rd party week 1 launch for a VR-required title on PS4. Bethesda's Switch version of 'The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim' is the last of the new releases within the Top 40, debuting at No26."

PSVR >>>> Switch
SwitchU gonna be a VR console confirmed.

Or better. Make a new (and good) Crash game.

Summing up what I posted in the other thread, Skyrim Switch sales in UK are really disappointing, being behind not only Skyrim VR, but also PS VR Worlds. That means it can't be even blamed on the install base.

L.A. Noire is a bit better at least in terms of percentage, still low numbers, but I guess Rockstar might be happy with it.

Hopefully the rest of Europe makes up for UK's total lack of interest.

Post it here too.
Any word on if the X is still doing good? Or too early for that? Really interested in if it can keep it's momentum.

Also, LA Noire Switch seems like it did really good, no? Which is annoyingly like the only Switch game I thought wouldn't do well, that's the power of Rockstar, I guess. I think I'm done trying to predict what 3rd party does well and what doesn't on Switch now.

That's very interesting indeed. 20% Switch vs. 28% Xbox One is quite close, and a great result for Switch imo. Hopefully the market for those games will grow further. Skyrim is a shame, as I hoped it would do quite a bit better, but we will have to see how it does elsewhere in the world to make up for it.

Skyrim is one place below PS4 GTAV. Do we know what sales should be attributed to such a ranking approximately?

Skyrim VR doing way better than I expected (and on the flip side, Skyrim Switch? Ouch). I guess that VR bundle must have done pretty well on Black Friday?

If it wasn't for the damn spiders I would have bought it in a second.

Just for clarity regarding Pokémon, since people will be using this as evidence of Game Freak losing their touch, this is par for the course

Typically enhanced versions do half what the original did
RG: 31m-Yellow: 14.6m
GS: 23m-Crystal: 6.3m
RS: 16m-Emerald: 7m
DP: 17m-Platinum: 7.6m
BW: 15m-Black2/White2: 8.52m

It may have sold less than Skyrim.
But yeah it is doing well relatively to the other versions and shows that there are an audience on Switch for this kind of games.

Odyssey having better legs than either of the versions of Origins is surprising, given that it's the UK.

Poor Skyrim Switch.

Wasn't Skyrim switch £50 everywhere?

I mean all other reasons releases of Skyrim where around £25. What were they thinking releasing it for that much. A 6 years game in that.

German BIU Sales Awards for October: https://www.biu-online.de/blog/2017...sten-computer-und-videospiele-in-deutschland/
  • FIFA 18 (PS4) >1M
  • Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy (PS4) >200K
  • Assassin's Creed Origins (PS4) >100K
  • Gran Turismo Sport (PS4) >100K
  • Super Mario Odyssey (Switch) >100K
As expected, GTSport and MO are in (100K) after a few weeks. Both should manage to reach 200K.
I don't know what it is about Nintendo and the UK.
Knack destroyed them a few years ago.

All in all, it's good to see so many Switch games charing in UK. Perhaps many of them are not selling well, but during Wii U and 3DS era, most of the games were disappearing from charts right after launch. I expect a good holiday season for Switch in UK as well.

Ports are having a hard time in the UK because there are less Nintendo exclusive owners than elsewhere. I guess that an overwhelming majority of Switch owners has a PS4/XB1. Thus they may have already played the game or can buy it a lot cheaper.
