I wouldn't dedicate a topic on this but Xenoblade 2 is a highly regarded game so it is nice to see performing better than previous entries.
Anyway, look at how 3DS Fire Emblem games opened in UK and then look at worldwide sales (both Awakening and Fates are close to 2m).
Best selling gt by years end in the UK if we include Digital.
Who said this mattered to the overall performance scenario? New news, new thread? I'm not sure what you're problem is.
You can't stop Crash. It's like 90s in UK! GT, Crash and Mario in top 10.
This is not always true. Games like Prey were discounted early and still they were struggling to sell.
You're free to make a thread of anything you find noteworthy. If you look at the thread I made, you will see I bundled it with other sales information as well, to improve value of the thread. And I never claim that the UK sales of XBC2 are in any way indicative of the worldwide sales, so no need to accuse me of selective dismissal here.
Fnac as a whole is bigger (and makes more money) than Cdiscount since it also has physical stores, but if we only compare their online activities, Cdiscount is only behind Amazon.

Skyrim switch underperforming had thread why XB2 overperforming doesn't? This sounds like thread whining before it is even made.
Also, since Xenoblade Chronicles 2 did around 14,000 units, it means all the games between 1st to 18th in the All Formats ranking and the ones between 1st to 15th in the Individual SKU one sold better than that. For example, Just Dance 2018 (all SKUs). Interestingly enough, no version of the game is in the Individual SKU ranking, despite that.
Some games doesn't sell well too, even discounted. Makes sense. :D

Sure, but Prey & co. were not heavily advertised by Bethesda. In fact, they sold badly also because there was almost no marketing campaign. Also, Prey & co. were not once 11m+ seller franchises.
If a game costs 60% of its retail price (because it's overshipped), it's highly advertised by the hardware manufacturer and has a huge name (GT was once the biggest gaming franchise) the likelihood it will sell well thanks to the discounts is higher. No one cares about Prey---a lot of people care(d) about GT.
PS: before someone attacks me as in this very thread, I own all GT entries and I never bought any other racing sim, and never bought an Xbox in my life. I have yet to personally play GT Sport though.
the point is that the skyrim thread, as many others before it, were claimed to be doom&gloom and innecessary because 'the UK doesn't represent anything'.
I didn't post in those as I won't in the XC2 one, so it's not like I care that much, I just made an observation. Unless it's a really important/breaking statistic, I'd just keep the conversation in PAL threads but it's not my thing to decide.

This is not "some game" though, this is Gran Turismo we are talking about, a huge franchise with a lot of marketing and advertising.
Forza 7 was discounted, yes but not as much as GTS and besides Forza is not nearly as big as GT in Europe.

What you are talking about isn't unique. We literally get a thread about major releases performance in the UK every week. Shrug. New news gets a new thread. It's not a doom and gloom thing (well a lot of these games bombed so it kinda is but you know what I mean)
When I talk about the price reduction I don't mean the one that happened for Black Friday but the several price cuts shortly after launch and weeks before Black Friday week.

Forza 7 was discounted too a few weeks after release. Was available for 35£. GTS was available for 35£ 3 weeks after release.
