Black Friday is really taking off in continental Europe too. 100k a week in Spain is pretty damn huge for hardware. COD: WWII also almost doubling its sales in a single week. Crazy.

Wow at 100K PS4s sold lol.

So FIFA Switch seems to be doing well compared to the install base? seems like a good number of Switch users bought the game.

Doom and Skyrim for Switch really underperformed in UK.

The Skyrim VR version is still present in the top 40 while the Switch version is nowhere to be seen.

Those numbers are really something, Switch included.

Also, Lost Legacy is going to move big figures at its price point. One of the less talked, biggest success stories of the year.

Lost Legacy sold great even though it was part of the season pass, it should be over a million by now right?

So is it possible the PS4 did close to a million last week?
The UK was over 140K, Spain 100K, Germany and France probably similar to the UK and then all the rest.

Lost Legacy and COD were highly bundled in Spain with the PS4.

Best deal was PS4 (500 gb) + Lost Legacy + WWII + That's You! for €249.99.

Million last week is pretty much a lock. In US alone it should be way beyond 500k for the week as black friday weekend is usually about 60% of novemeber sales (last year PS4 did 1.1 million in november so with straight math about 660k black friday weekend). Not to mention that by all accounts PS4 should be up yoy in US this year with that $199 deal. If rest of EU had relatively as strong sales as Spain and UK PS4 could be beyond 1.5 million for a week globally.

Between Germany, Spain, UK, and Japan GT Sport has sold 500K at retail right? Let me know if I got the math wrong but from recolection

Japan 150K launch
Germany over 100K launch
UK (only counting launch and Black Friday) 200K
Spain (week 47) 87K

Digital (Just for the 4 countries above) is likely to be + 20-30% so that's an additional 100K - 150K

I'm sure that someone will disagree and soon but that looks mightily impressive to me.

Well they are different level of struggling.

- Selling well : UK and Nothern Europe more generally
- Selling okayish : France and Germany
- Selling irrelevant numbers : Spain

Correct.
Even tho i would call Spain and South Europe bad and not irrelevant.
Literally irrelevant are the Xbox One sales in Japan. In South Europe it's still low single digit marketshare and not 0.0X% like Japan.

I'm thinking It's like last year where they announce biggest BF yet sold less than before in US. Biggest BF doesn't mean much now that other countries are adopting BF.

But there's nothing to indicate that it didn't do well in the US. I mean, many US online retailers were sold out of the $200 PS4 either before Black Friday hit or shortly after it went into effect. Unless they severely undershipped those units, then it'd be shocking if their NA results were anything disappointing.

Price was slashed by retailers soon after launch. The series was used to sell 11m+ so these numbers doesn't look that impressive considering how huge the franchise is. It might be a slow-burner and sells through bundles, sure. But GT was Sony's top franchise—right now, in terms of launch numbers, it has been surpassed by Uncharted, Horizon, maybe something else.

Worlwide is surely close to 1.5 million (digital included), which is... very good? All the conversation around Sport in the future will be on how it compares with previous entries, so this topic won't go away for years.

Oh. Well then. Doubt it that it was anywhere near 1 million this week in Europe only. UK was around 143k, Spain is 100k. Lets give Italy something like 80-100k as it's pretty similar in size to Spain. France and Germany could be around the same as UK so 140k each. That would give us total of around 500-520k. Rest of Europe is PlayStation dominated but still especially eastern Europe buys a lot less consoles so I would guess 200k at best from rest of Europe Still only somewhat over 700k. Of course these are only my own estimates with no factual data. Week 50 (week before christmas) is the best chance you get for 1 million weekly sales in EU but I don't think we will get enough data to determine that.

I told everyone Ps4 was destroying here in the South, I've plenty of evidence but but Black Friday is big only on the US.

Playstation promotion bundles absolutely sold out in Portugal at major retailers also, Call of Duty is absolutely killing It I've never seen anything like it in the last few years apart from Fifa or GTA and as I said Star Wars is flopping hard, stores with plenty of unmoved stock etc.

Holiday bundles for Ps4 here in the south include:

Call of Duty WW2 Limited Edition (1tb)
Call of Duty WW2 regular Ps4 edition (500gb)
Minecraft Ps4 regular edition (500gb)
Star Wars regular and limited editions (500gb and 1tb, Pro and Slim)
FIFA regular edition (Slim and Pro)

Some more with Crash etc but didn't check those at every store, console still sold out at many places.

I won't call Xbox Okayish in France.
Don't forget that WiiU was selling better than the Xbox One in France (probably the only place on earth with Japan lol)
Xbox is kinda "Meh" here.

Just in Europe you mean? might do but I'm not sure if the less talked about countries add up to that much.
Yeah, I wasn't super confident the less spoken about markets could make up the other half-ish million. Thanks for the responses.

The numbers I listed were all launch (except for BF UK) and I was only tallying 4 countries. PS strong holds like France Italy and basically the rest of the EU's launch sales haven't been accounted for. And as a UK gamer I can tell you with some certainty that GT made a killing in Europe so my guess is the launch numbers for GT outsell every other racer released this year, combined. Especially since those other racersnever show up in any other charts outside the UK. We haven't accounted for Asai, Latin America, and basically the rest of the world's launch GT sales.

Yeah GTS got a major boost nice.

Yeah that is really crazy.

The marketing campaign for Black Friday started in early November in Spain. You must had been living in a cave to not know what was happening if you lived here.

It's been a thing since 2013 or so, I think, and it's getting bigger every year.
