The Official Christmas Chart arrives and Activision's 'Call of Duty: WWII' claims the Xmas No1, meaning that 'COD' claims 4 years in a row, and now equals the total number of Xmas No1's set by EA's 'FIFA', as both titles have 8 Xmas No1's each since records began 34 years ago in 1984.

The first Xmas No1 in 1984 was also published by Activision and was 'Ghostbusters' (Spectrum/Commodore). EA take No2 with 'FIFA 18' and a massive surge (price promotion and movie hype) for 'Star Wars Battlefront II' sees EA remaining at No3, fending off Microsoft's new release 'Playerunknown's Battlegrounds' for Xbox One, debuting strongly at No4. Ubisoft's 'Assassin's Creed Origins' has a nice Xmas, remaining at No5 with sales surging over last week. Nintendo's 'Super Mario Odyssey' at No6 is the top-selling Switch Santa title and Rockstar/Take 2 occupy 7th spot with 'GTA V'. 2K/Take 2's 'WWE 2K18' festive fighter remains at No8 and sales surge thanks to PS4/Xbox One big increases and also a new Switch version this week. One other new release squeezes in to the Top 40, as Capcom's 'Okami HD' debuts at No37 for PS4/Xbox One.

A few numbers we can deduce, from the other thread:
Source: http://www.mcvuk.com/articles/retai...rates-christmas-with-seventh-consecutive-numb

So, AC: Origins +76% and SWBFII +81%.

Referring to mpl90's work:

It follows that SWBFII did roughly 70,092 units.

Apparently WWII is 50% over Infinite Warfare during Week 50 for both games:

Quoting BrunoMB from a certain legacy location:

So WWII did around 145,350 units this week.

Hope we do get the per-sku splits for the top 10 this week!

Okami at 37...

Well even I didn't buy it and I might be one of its biggest fans in this country. Saw no reason to buy this version to play through it for a 4th time.

If there's a game out there that's flopped more times than Okami, I can't think of it.

Okami HD outsold Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition (released same week) so... Token win.

_________

I looked at the individual charts and Okami HD got 15th on PS4 but didn't chart in the top 20 for Xbox One.

Resident Evil 7 didn't chart in the top 20 of either despite the Gold Edition releasing the same week as Okami HD.

What exactly were people expecting from okami? Its the 4th release and offers almost nothing over the ps3 version.

The timing of Okami HD is just dumb. Release remasters like this earlier in the gen. I would've bought it then in a heartbeat. Or a slower month. Or both.

In 2017? I don't even have time for new releases on one platform, let alone go back to classic games I enjoyed.

We don't know how many copies the digital version has sold. Many small or less appealing games (or re-releases like in this case) get surprise retail releases instead of sticking only to digital.

At this rate is is now close to 100% certain GTS will not outsell Crash this year and won't become the best selling Ps4 exklusiv in 2017.

Super strange that on German charts Skyrim's platforms are PS4, Xbox and PC without a mention of the Switch but under publisher it's Bethesda and Nintendo.

Crash in the top ten is more impressive to me than PUBG results. I wonder what life time sales are gonna be for Crash.

Solid debut for pubg, crash has legs for days. I expect mario oddyssey to chart solidly for years (deservedly so )

PS4 is the beastiest of beasts

SW is holding... too well.

Also I thought PUBG would rank a fair bit higher than that..? Considering it's so massive I thought it would sell to a vast amount of Xbox owners.

why does the UK hate xenoblade and splatoon :(

It doesn't take digital into account. This is just physical sales and I'm shocked it did that well charts wise.

Getting PUBG on store shelves was a great move by MS. Wonder how long the game stays in the charts, at that £24.99 price point (and probably lower) it could be a great impulse buy for people in store?

PUBG did extremely well. Worth bearing in mind that this rank only shows physical unit sales and that the physical version was just a box with a digital download code in it.

I'd have to imagine that the majority of sales were via digital download. Microsoft will be really happy with this.
